The red and white tent towered over Roseanne and Ella, the gentle wind swaying the tent softly which made Roseanne very apprehensive about entering it. It probably was nowhere near safe.

Roseanne didn't have much time to contemplate safety procedures because Ella's took her hand dragged her to go inside. Roseanne had the chance to read the big sign in black lettering

THE MANOBAN FAMILY CIRCUS

Roseanne rolled her eyes. It sounded lame already.

"Come on Roseanne's!" Ella exclaimed. "I want to get good seats!" Ella grinned.

Roseanne sighed and followed Ella as the girl kept talking about how excited she was to see the show. But Roseanne was too distracted by looking around at the ungodly amount of people crowding around to see the show. She was one of hundreds of people that were about to watch the most time-wasting thing on Earth. Get ready for illusions and disappointments, she thought to herself.

"...and they'll probably be a magician that'll do cool tricks." Ella continued before gasping. "Do you think the magician might have fairy dust? DO YOU THINK THE MAGICIAN WILL KNOW FAIRIES?" Ella squealed.

Roseanne turned to her. "Magic isn't real, Ella." She deadpanned. "And fairies only exist in books and films and—"

"They are too real!" Ella protested, furrowing her eyebrows.

Roseanne sighed. "El, the magician will probably just pull out a bunny from its hat and call it a day."

"No they won't!" Ella argued. "Magic is real! And fairies are real and unicorns and everything magical is real, you're just not looking closely."

"Whatever, Ella." Roseanne rolled her eyes, not wanting to argue with her nine year old sister.

"Maybe you should listen to your sister, she seems to have her head and heart in the right place." A voice spoke up.

Roseanne quickly pulled Ella close to her, she was definitely not in the mood to deal with creeps. But it wasn't a creep. It was a girl with a silver hair that was adorned with a black top hat.

"No offense, but you should butt off this conversation." Roseanne told the girl brusquely.

The girl didn't seemed fazed by the rude reply and simply smiled before fixing her black suit that had a white bowtie and a tailcoat that reached the back of her naked knees. She was obviously a part of the circus judging by her dark lipstick and glitter underneath her specks of freckles and over her eyelids.

The girl bent down to Ella's level and smiled. "What's your name?" she asked sweetly.

"Don't answer her." Roseanne ordered her sister.

"Ella!" Way to listen to your sister, Ella.

The girl smiled even wider. "Ella." She repeated. "That is such an awesome name." she grinned. "My name's Niki, I'm the magician here."

Of course, Roseanne runs into the damn magician when she's arguing to her little sister about magic.

Ella's eyes lit up with excitement at hearing that the girl in front of her was a magician. "Really?" Ella gasped. "Do you know fairies?" she grinned.

Roseanne rolled her eyes, crossing her arms.

Niki sighed. "Unfortunately, I do not." Niki said sadly before smiling again. "But, I did happen to overhear you wanted fairy dust. I don't have that, but I have magical glitter that I use in my act." The girl explained before leaning closer to the little girl. "Would you like some?" she whispered with a grin.
