i opened my eyes. where am i?“y/n! you're awake!”
a guy hugged me so tight. i was about to scream and push him away but then a familiar scent filled my nose.
“ryu?...”
he nodded his head and kissed me on my temple.
i smiled, “aww... so sweet.” i weakly teased him and punched him lightly in the arm.
he glared at me. oh shit! i don't want to see his face when he's glaring. he looks like a gangster in the streets. no offense, ryu.
“WHY DID YOU FUCKING SLEEP AT THE STREETS?!”
i looked up at him with a confused look. streets? but i was in my bed last night!
“pfftt!! hahahaha!”
“WHAT THE HELL IS SO FUNNY?!”
i continued to laugh at his distorted face and fake wiped a tear in my eye.
he sighed then patted my head.
when we both calmed down. i asked him a question that's been bugging me.
“ryu?”
“hmm?”
“is there a guy who helped me when i was—uhh sleeping on the streets?”
i badly want to know. i couldn't see his face last night and i don't know why. maybe tears clouded my eyes.
“a guy? no you idiot! i was the one who found you!”
“oh...” i looked down as i started playing with my fingers—a habit that i picked up ever since i was kid. it just shows how bothered i am.
luckily, ryu's here with me...

-we're now sitting on a couch at ryu's house. i told them why i was found sleeping on the streets last night.
the truth is, i had a fight with my mom. i don't know why she started hitting me, but i do know that she was saying something like “you don't belong here!”
again...
that's why i ran and ran on the streets. just to get away from my mom. or should i even call her that? i don't know anymore...
now im sitting here, drinking hot tea in a cold weather, with blankets wrapped around me.
saeko nee-san grabbed my hand and squeezed it. she the started looking through the cut on my thigh, “it must have hurt...” my heart hurts so bad.
i just smiled at her and mouthet a soft 'thank you'.
sometimes, i wish saeko was my mom.
