"Morning Sunshine."
Dean's soft voice woke Ellie, causing her to pry open her eyes through yesterday's mascara. The lamp on his side of the bed was clicked on, which created a golden halo around his silhouette, but made her eyes hard to keep open. Upon seeing her brown eyes gazing back at him, he gave her a gentle smile, but she gave a small groan and rolled over to face the opposite direction.
"What time is it?" She asked through a yawn as he slipped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer to him.
"Does it matter?" He asked innocently, brushing her hair back from her neck and kissing it.
"We actually have to be productive today," she protested, though she let her eyes fall shut again as she spoke.
"Not for hours," He argued, continuing to kiss at her collarbone.
Ellie had promised herself that they would take things slowly, that they weren't together yet, they were just feeling things out. This was just a trial period, that was all, to see how things went. And yet this was the third night in a row they had slept in the same bed, and one of six just this week. Ever since the first night together, being apart didn't feel as normal as it had before. Whenever they would try to sleep apart, the bed felt too cold, too empty, and they'd run into each other somewhere in the hall, each on their way to the other's room. So now, Dean hadn't really left Ellie's room for the last three days. And as much as she wanted to be annoyed by it, she adored every second of it. It was the happiest she had been in a long, long time. Ellie was still half asleep as Dean began to kiss her, finally waking her up enough for her to kiss him back.
He attempted to be romantic and push her back against the headboard, but his over excitement resulted in her hitting her head against it with a thud.
"Ooh, sorry," He cringed a bit, gently rubbing the back of her head where he knocked it. She gave a small laugh, then went back to kissing him, but they were soon interrupted by a knock at the door.
"Ellie?" Sam's voice quietly called through the heavy wooden door. Her and Dean both quickly froze, staring anxiously at the doorway, hoping he might still think she was asleep and go away.
"He doesn't know yet, does he?" Ellie whispered nervously.
"Nope."
"Under the bed. MOVE, get under the bed!" Ellie whisper-yelled at him, shoving him off of the bed. Dean didn't have time to question it before she pulled the blankets far enough down the side to cover him up, then walked over to the door to let Sam in.
"Hey Sam, what's up?" Ellie said in a slightly higher octave than normal as she swung open the door. Sam's eyes showed slight concern as he glanced past her and into the bedroom, and Ellie forced a smile as she desperately hoped Dean was still hidden.
"Are you okay? I thought I heard someone talking in here," Sam asked, passively looking around. "And there was a loud thud, I-..... Are those Dean's sweatpants?" Sam continued, now doing a double-take at the batman pajama pants Ellie had on. Her eyes widened just the tiniest bit.
"OH, um... Yeah I- I just.... I accidentally grabbed them from the dryer at one point and they were just... too comfy to put back I guess!" Ellie shrugged, giving an unusually wide smile and growing visibly more nervous. She could feel her cheeks slightly reddening.
"Oh, okay..." Sam dismissed, not appearing to notice her jumpiness. "Hey you said a few days ago your highschool reunion is tonight, do you think you're gonna go?"
Ellie gave a small shrug, and allowed herself to relax a bit now that the conversation seemed to have shifted.
"Y'know, I want to, but I also don't want to look drastically less successful than all my classmates..." She trailed off, giving a small nod. "But y'know, I figure if I show up with not one, but two dates, I'd look pretty awesome."
