"Let's do this dirty laundry, this dirty laundry, Let's do this dirty laundry, this dirty laundry. When you're soaked in tears for years, it never airs out. When you make pain look this good it never wears out. This dirty laundry, this dirty laundry" - Kelly Rowland

"Hello? Is that you Lexi?" Alexus's mother, Roxanne, answered the phone.

Roxanne smacked her lips once she heard Alexus sniffling after thirty seconds of being silent.

"Girl, what's wrong with you? Why're you crying?" Roxanne asked Alexus, who began to wipe her tears, trying to get herself together.

"I'm tired Ma, I can't do this anymore. I want to come to visit you for a while." Alexus spoke.

"Chile, I-" Roxanne sighed trying to get her thoughts together, she couldn't tell her nothing different then what she told her before.

"You need to stop making him so angry, start doing right and you won't have to worry about him beating you Alexus. How many times do I have to tell you that?" Roxanne asked.

"What about those times that he beat me for no reason Ma? It's not me, it's him!" Alexus's voice cracked.

"You need to just stay out of his way, matter fact, make him a nice dinner tonight, and apologize. Things will get better, I promise" Roxanne advised.

Alexus pulled her phone from away from her ear and looked at her screen in complete shock, she'd heard this same advice for two years straight and it still left her with a bruised body.

"I gotta go mom" Alexus spoke before running her fingers through her hair.

"Alright baby, I love you" Roxanne said.

"Yeah, bye" Alexus said before hanging up.

Alexus looked at the time on her Apple Watch before putting her sunglasses on, grabbing her purse, and keys then headed out her front door to her all white Mercedes Benz.

After riding for fifteen minutes, Alexus finally arrived in front of her boutique called "Lexi's Closet"

After riding for fifteen minutes, Alexus finally arrived in front of her boutique called "Lexi's Closet".

Alexus was always known for her dressing skills but it wasn't until her freshman year in college when she started to get recognition for her self-designed clothes.

She'd get asked all of the time where she got her clothes, and once she told them that she made them herself they all started to put in orders. For a long time she was selling shirts and dresses out of her Honda Civic's trunk, six years later she now owns her own boutique.
