Immediately Jaren got nervous and quite panicked hearing the knock at the door. He didn't know who could be at the door at this time, wondering if he should go check or not. His thoughts were broken when the knock happened for the second time. He slowly sat up from his bed, drawing back the covers and slowly standing up, trying to calm his nerves down as he slowly walked out of his room. He headed to the door kind of slow, being highly nervous about who is there.

He emerged from the hallway to the living room, the front door just several steps away from him. He froze up, staring at the door, unable to walk. His hands started to shake some as his nerves started to go wild about the person at the door. Not to mention the fact he was tired as well and was about to fall asleep. He took deep breaths, trying to calm down, trying to make himself believe it was no one bad. It took a few minutes for his nerves to calm down, making his mind and body believe it was no one bad and he started to walk to the front door.

He still took deep breaths, silently, taking his last deep breath as his hand hovered over the door knob. He didn't know who was behind that door, being too scared to look into the peephole but more scared to actually open it. He stared at the door for a second before his hand wrapped around the door knob, closing his eyes, leaning in, and slowly opening them back up again to look straight through the peephole. His heart immediately started to pound, his legs getting weak, his hand that's not on the door knob twitching a little. He breathed in but somehow forgot to breathe out for a second as he realized who the person was at the door.

All of a sudden, he forgot how to move, countless childhood memories and fears hitting him like a train. He knew this was it. Once he opened the door and let that monster in, his life that he worked so hard to get, vanished like a dandelion fuzz blown through the air. His past was behind him and now it's like someone rewinded the tape back. However, this tape being his life and it's going back to his childhood years.

Yet another knock at the door, knowing he couldn't leave the person out there. Taking a long, shaky breath he slowly turned the door knob and pulled the door open.

“Hello Dad..” Jaren spoke up reluctantly and quickly made himself step aside to let the person, who was his dad, inside.

His dad didn't say a word and stumbled in, smelling horribly of alcohol that sent literal chills down Jaren's spine, smelling the alcohol immediately, also knowing he is drunk, like almost always. If he wasn't drunk he was getting drunk, never really seeing his dad completely or even remotely sober.

He shut and locked the door after his dad stumbled inside, then slowly looked at him and spoke up to him, of course not too loud, but not too low.

“I'll take you to your room..” He said with respect, only because he had to or the worst would happen, having to be careful on how he says things. Even the slightest change in tone could set his dad off into one of his many 'spells'.

He led his dad to a guest room. Of course, he had to help his dad so he didn't fall on the floor. Once he got his dad in the room and on the bed, he told him that this room is the biggest room. His real intentions were so his dad didn't come to his room because in reality his room was the biggest, then, with that, he exited the room, knowing his dad was going to pass out real soon. An idea of what to do to fully convince his dad about the room sizes came to mind then, and he quickly headed off to his room and over to his dresser. He kind of just grabbed clothes, not caring what they looked like, then exiting the room and going to the smallest room in the house which was the other guest room. That one being a little bit smaller than the room his dad is staying in.

He walked in and looked around, holding some of his clothes, then he went over to the dresser, putting up his clothes in his arms into a drawer. He headed back to grab a few more clothes and shoes out of his closet to hang up in the closet in the room, just so things seem normal and to have his dad truly believe the lie he told him. Although, yes it was quite a silly lie since it was over rooms, but he has dealt with his dad for way too long. He knows what he can and cannot do. Yes, he's normally not allowed to lie, but he is if he knows for certain he won't get caught.
