TERRA
I slid my hand across the fogged up mirror and stared at my reflection.
Hollow eyes, wounded lips, hair in a wet mess and thin scars all over my face, neck and arms.
Some of these scars were already scabbing, but still hurts me when something rubs over it. The gashes on my legs were already alright but the ones on my upper body were still healing and still hurt like shit.
The worse were on my wrists, where it was once covered with bandage but was removed just this morning when they told me I could already go home.
I sighed and tucked the towel under my arms securely as I got out of the hospital bathroom.
“I didn’t know what you’d like to wear, so I made a few options.” Eleanor smiled at me warmly, and I returned it back.
I went over to her by the bed and saw outfits laid out. I picked the sweater, tank top and leggings.
Eleanor helped me dress because technically, it was impossible for me to dress on my own.
I winced as Eleanor pulled my hand through the arm hole of the sweater.
“Sorry, babe. Last one.” She said softly and pulled my other hand on the other hole.
She sat me down and started brushing my hair.
I wanted to thank her, for everything. But I decided that I would save it for later, when I met with everyone else.
The boys, and usually with their girlfriends, often visited me for the past week. All, except for Zayn. Even Perrie visited me at one time. I wasn’t waiting for Zayn, just that it would be appreciated if he did visit. But no, I guess there are still a lot of things to talk about.
Niall, on the other hand, has been the perfect gentleman. He sent me flowers, and played the guitar when I asked him to.
On one afternoon, he came alone. He only brought his guitar and a bundle of fresh flowers to replace the ones he brought the other day. It was the time when he apologized.
Flashback
He set the vase down on the side table after changing the water and putting in the new flowers.
He approached me and kissed my forehead as light as a feather. He stroked his finger so lightly on my face as he looked into my eyes.
“Hey. How you doing?” he whispered, our faces close together.
I gave him a small smile, “Doing great. Yourself?” I asked.
He straightened up and pulled the chair towards the side of the bed. He sat down and gripped my hand in between his.
“Terra, I’m sorry. I’m sorry for that day. I should have known better to push you away like that, to say those kinds of words.”
I licked my dry lips, “Niall, it’s not your fault. I guess it just all piled up. Besides, I’m talking to you right now, aren’t I?” I joked a bit but he kept his face serious.
“But why didn’t you tell me you were bordering to… this? You could have at least told me that you were feeling this way. I would’ve been there for you, no matter what. I could have helped you, at an earlier time.” He said, it was obvious in his face that he was being honest and true.
I looked away. A lump was filling my throat, a certain indication that I was about to burst out crying.
“Terra, look at me.” he softly said and tried to move my face towards him, but I moved my head away. Afraid that I might cry hysterically in front again, and I didn’t want that happening.
He sighed heavily, “Terra. Please.”
I closed my eyes and gulped down whatever was in my throat. I looked back at him.
His eyes were soft, “Terra. I’ll always be here for you. I’ll never leave you. I’ll never let you go. I’ll never hurt you. You can always count on me. If you feel or have the urge of wanting to attempt, just give me a call and I’ll come to you. I promise you all that, Terra… but please, promise me something back…” he paused, eyes filling up his own eyes.
“Please don’t do something like this again. I don’t want to lose you, ever. I can’t imagine my world without you. Promise me, Terra.” He pleaded.
A tear escaped from his eye, and I wiped it away with my other hand.
“I promise, Niall. I promise.” I whispered as my own tears slid down my cheek.
FLASHBACK OVER
So, now. We were on good terms. We even agreed on writing a song together, just us two.
Only Louis and Eleanor came here to get me because they said the others had stuff to do. However, El and Lou told me that they were going to try to stop by my house tonight.
I really wished that they were here as well, when I leave the hospital, but I wouldn’t want to trouble them or anything.
I sighed out loud, “Are there paps outside?” I quietly asked El.
“Mhm. They’ve been here for the whole week you were here.” She snorted and I snickered at her.
“I can just imagine the headlines, ‘Terra Delair rushed to the hospital because of a stupid attempt of suicide’.” I laughed lightly.
Eleanor stopped her hand and just kept quiet. I know that this matter was sensitive.
It was, it really was.
“Terra, please don’t do it again. I’m begging you. You scared us all.” She muttered and her voice was shaky.
I turned around and saw that her she was going to cry. I stood up and hugged her, that’s when she sobbed out. I rubbed her back as she cried on my shoulder, which hurt a bit as she leaned but it didn’t matter now.
“Shh. Yes, I won’t do it again. I swear.” I told her.
And then she pulled away, wiping at her eyes.
She laughed, “Wow, that was uncalled for. This is what happens, Terra! You’re making other people cry! You’re such an idiot.”
I laughed with her, and hugged her again.
Suddenly the door was swung open, revealing an eyes-covered Louis.
“Is it safe to come in already? ‘Cause I heard laughing in here.” He said and peeked in between his fingers. He grinned softly at the sight of the both of us, and then it turned to a mischievous smirk.
“Aww. I would have loved to see more action between you two. That could’ve been hot.” He nodded and walked over to us.
Eleanor pulled away, and smacked Louis’s head upside.
I giggled a bit as Louis rubbed his head.
“So, are you ready to go?” Eleanor bounced. I smiled at her and nodded my head.
“Alright! Expect a lot of activity as soon as we leave that door.” Louis said, cocking his head to the room doors. He grabbed the bag and settled it on his shoulder.
Eleanor grabbed my hand and I took a deep breath. Louis opened the door and we walked out, to the world who now had a different perspective of me.
Bring it on, world. I’m as ready as ever.
