Eren refused to meet the eyes of the principal. With what little vision that spilled past the swollen left eye and bruised right upper lid, he gathered a mahogany crescent shaped desk and steepled fingers tapping a mouth turned down in a heavy frown. "Care to explain yourself, Mr Jaeger?"
Eren's last name sounded foreign on the teachers tongue. The gruff tone was a bit like insulting the family name rather than encouragement for a response. As it stood, neither male in the stuffy wooden office seemed to be in a lighthearted mood to engage in verbal warfare regarding the teens display of unrelenting rage.
Eren lifted a hand and scraped his left thumb over the dribble of blood from the corner of his mouth and finally broke the silence. "It seems to me the students here hold no respect for each other," he remarked. Cloaking his disdain at the statement with a smooth undertone of nonchalant drawl.
The principal narrowed his eyes. "That is not for an underclassman to rectifye."
"It should," Eren continued, as if he hadnt spoken, "be a society of equality, not a show of worth." His own eyes narrowed but voice still controlled, he slipped honey over shards of broken glass. "Considering this is a town that is all about goal setting and role models. I simply made a generous contribution to the asylum that is this school."
The temper flared in the elder mans gaze as it held Eren's. Heated enough to melt the boy down and smear him over a cake like icing and have him for a delicacy even after a wholesome meal. He knew he was at the mouth of a cave and made no sudden move or indication of leaving it anytime soon.
With a tight smile, the principal stood. It was then that Eren realized a woman of high spirits entered the office. "Well, I'll be sure to tend to any... uncomfortable situations. You just make yourself at home here, Jaeger." The word 'home' drew a cringe from the man as if the word brought bile to a sore throat. Frankly, Eren felt the same; wanting nothing to do with the man at the desk.
With a high chin and polite nod and smile, he walked from the office and mustered the control not to slam the door but, instead, gave it a good running start while it closed.

"WHAT were you thinking!!!"
Mikasa was on a rampage. Her face redenning and emotionless act crumbled. This was the side of his sister that was most frightening, but today was just one of those days he didn't mind a thing.
He tilted his head back, reclining on Levi's plush white loveseat. His eyes were closed, and his feet rested on the coffee table. A look of incredulity stealing his features.
"How could you speak to the principal like that! He has every right to EXPELL you Eren!!"
He grimaced. "The man had no interest in the students, Mika. He only looked interested in the school receptionist. Which is probably the only reason he took on the job."
Her stormy grey iris's were soon swallowed up by dialated pupils. "Have you no respect... For the people meant to protect you?" Her gritted teeth made the words come out as a hiss. "Or the family name?"
His breath caught.
"It seems you go about your careless way without thinking about how you're representing mom and dad. How do you think they would feel? Looking at you right now. Pride? Anyone with eyes can see this isn't like you." She sucked in a deep breath and snatched keys from the kitchen table. As she pressed the unlock button on her way to the front door, the truck in the garage let out a double bleep. "When you have the courage to own up and take responsibility for your actions... Come to me." She slammed the door shut enough to convey the message but not hard enough to dent anything expensive of her uncles'.
