New Kid At School

Zoe's POV:
I check the time on my watch. 8:20am. That's fine, I'm nearly there anyways. I can't say the same for Joe. I approach the school building and I see my chummy, Louise, waiting for me by the school gates. I run up to her and scream "CHUMMYYY!!" Not caring if anyone hears me, "I've missed you so much!"

I look around and see people staring at me like I'm a psychopath and I blush a little bit, maybe I do care a bit. We then walk towards the building but stop in the middle of everyone else's way. Yeah, we are that kind of people.

"So chummy, tell me everything that you've been up to." I ask Louise.

"Well, I went to Portugal this summer with my family and I..."

I get distracted by a boy that walks past me and Louise. He had black hair and hazel eyes. He looked like he was about the same age as me, I had never seen this boy before, he ran his fingers through his hair and looked over at me. I quickly turned away and bit my lip, too embarrassed to look up.

"Umm, chummy?" I quickly looked up at the sound of Louise's voice.

"Yes?" I replied back to her.

"You kind of got distracted by that boy over there."

"Oh, um. No I didn't. I was listening to you." I nervously said to her.

"Yeah, sure. Come on, you don't have to lie to me. I know that you were looking at him. Ooo, does my chummy have a crush on someone?" Louise started cooing.

"What? No. That's crazy."

My voice was high in denial.

Luckily before Louise could say anything else, the bell rang which meant the start of school. Saved by the bell. We go line up where we would usually line up but since we're Year 10 now, we line up at 10B instead of 9B. I see that same boy line up where I am standing. Is he joining our class?

The headteacher makes an announcement and then we all go to our classes with our teacher for the lesson. When I walk into the classroom I see that there is a seating plan on the whiteboard and I nearly scream when I see that me and Louise are sitting next to each other. There was also a spare seat next to me but no one seemed to be sitting there. I sat down next to Louise. I saw that boy talking to the teacher and then the teacher pointed to me. Wait. What?

I then saw him walking towards me. I took out my books and pencil case out of my bag so that it wouldn't look like I care about him coming over. He sits down next to me and says, "Hi. My name is Alfie. Alfie Deyes."
