...

It was 9 o'clock in the morning and but the air felt like that of Sahara desert. The day for Ajay Singh Chauhan to take oath was just a month away and with the rising tension in the province, it was necessary to go around the place to take a look at the problems going on there.

Being the political and legislative power of the province, it was Chauhan's responsibility to maintain peace and decorum of the Area. And being the elder daughter of the minister and her elder brother's right hand, taking care of people and province was her responsibility.

The reports were corrupted already and the local people were getting more anxious of the increasing foreign markets. She was ready in the clothes she had never worn before and if any of her people would see her like this they would surely faint on her.

" Aha, Aditi Singh Chauhan, her royal highness in cheap cotton clothes, where has sun risen from today? ", said a annoyingly familiar voice whispered in her ears.

My God can this day get any better! Was her sister not enough to point out the absurdity of her clothes that this man is doing the honours.

" Kabir singh Rajput, his royal highness, if you have not noticed, the sun always rise from east or do you need someone to teach you these things about life, you idiot ? ", she retorted, her light brown eyes glaring at the man in front of her.

" You are going to be that someone, right? ", he said with his lips quirked up. The way he would look with his deep brown eyes shining with mischief and the quirk of his lips has always melted her. But not now.

Oh who is she kidding.

Kabir Singh Rajput, the next heir in the line of Rajputs, could top the list of most handsome men she had met in the last 26 years of her life and that was saying a lot. She had been abroad for 3 years to finish off with her masters, but the males were either too white or too blonde for her taste.

But there was something too exotic about South Asian men, their personality, their rugged looks and sweet yet aggressive tone, the few things that might make you either jump their bones or use your sharpest weapons to kill them. She has met many South Asian young businessmen during her meetings and none was able to get through her. A few cliche pick up lines and clicking of her heels could be the only sound heard when she would walk out of that place .

This man with arrogant tongue of his was ready to bite her off, his suggestive remarks were enough to get under her skin and this was the fact which would make him less handsome in her eyes everytime he would open his mouth.

But the most annoying fact was that the man was going to be someone she should respect according to the Indian culture, and this fact would make her question their fathers' oh so good decision, everytime he would speak to her .

" Me hoti kon hun tumhe kuch sikhane waali?  ", she turned her face away from him. (Who am I to teach you something?)

" Someone special ", he whispered holding her hand.

" Yeh baatein mujhe acchi nahi lagti hai ab!  ", she swatted his hand away and angrily moved away. (Now, I do not like these talks!)

" Abhi bhi naraaz ho? ", he again tried to reach her. (You're still angry?)

She ignored his words and again moved away.

" You have come to meet dad, then meet him, there is no need to speak to me. ", she added, flipping her veil lightly over her head and sliding gracefully in the old car hired for her with her guards in casual clothes.

Mein naraaz hone wali hoti kon hun? (Who am I to get angry?)

He just shook his head huffing. How the hell he would make her love him, again? They would be married in two months. Will she always remain angry with him?

Without a single word said they moved inside the Mahal .

...

Wow, this place is really unhygienic, no wonder people were complaining about how unhealthy our state has become, she thought .

So far they have visited three hospitals and four clinics in the province and none of their condition matched the reports provided to them by the council. The doctors were charging high fees from the illiterate people, robbing them off their not so good amount of income, when the original fees was far less than the asked one. The hospital floors and rooms were dirty enough to make a fit and fine person sick .

With a few reports she asked her secretary to make, she left the place. The officials are going to get an earful from her next day. Its has already been three hours and she was hungry.

Although she wanted to eat food here in the locals her secretary advised her to not. If her father and brother get to know this, she will be the one getting an earful and that Kabir Singh Rajput would be enjoying his popcorns while laughing in the corner .

With a glance back at the hospital, she moved towards her car. As she settled in the back ,the door opened and came in Raj Singh Chauhan, clad in simple blue colour kurta and jeans with his own guards in casual clothes .

" What the hell are you doing here baby cousin, shouldn't you be in college right now?  ", she asked looking at Raj, who was looking at her attire, completely amused .

" Wow and here I thought Kiara was kidding when she said that you were looking like a strange nomade and please stop calling me baby, I am only 4 years younger than you. But you know you look ten years older than me, right now. ", he said riling his cousin up .

It was really funny how everyone was hell bent on criticising her outfit today. Not.

They know why she was dressed like this, the people in her province already recognised her face when she her arrival to the province was announced and it would have been difficult to remain disguised even when she would be in her normal Jeans and shirt.

The duty and authority to take some decisions has been given to her by her own people and minister.

And she will do it even if it she has to wear these greasy clothes.

"Why did you bring the lunch over here, you could have send one of the butlers. ", she said eating the rice. Raj was sitting beside her, playing games on his phone .

"It would be either me or your future husband here. ", he said without looking at her.

She nodded, thank god it was him who came here instead of that handsome asshole, if not, her delicious pulaw would have been wasted on his clothes, already. She still remembered their food fight, how she has dumped the whole batter of cookies down his shirt when they were teens and he had smeared the chocolate sauce on her face and her hair. They mothers had  pulled their ears till they were red.

"Okay ,I think you should go back to home now, it will take me another two hours here, and you need to study for your upcoming exams so.. ", shoving tiffin in the hands of his one of the guards "..go" ,she said in the final tone ,seeing he was ready to deny .

He begrudgingly got out and drove away in his car .
