(Luna's POV)
I step onto platform 9 3/4, pondering my conversation with Malfoy- I mean Draco. I glance at the large clock on the wall and realize that the Hogwarts Express will leave in four minutes. I begin the struggle of getting my trunk onto the train, "Do you need some help?" asks a voice behind me. "Yes, please the train's going to leave soon and I can't get my trunk-" I stopped talking. I had turned around to face the person offering to help me, it was Draco Malfoy. "Are you following me?" I asked suspiciously. "Wow, war really changed you. You used to always talk about blibbering humdingers and crumple horned snorkacks. Now you're so suspicious and... well, different from how you were." Draco said while lifting my trunk onto the train. "Well, I stopped talking about all that because people just kept on making fun of me. But I'll be the one laughing when I prove to them that crumple horned snorkacks and heliopaths are real." I answered watching him lifting my trunk into one of the overhead racks. "That's the Luna I know!" he said happily coming back out of the train. "Why did you stop calling me Loony?" I asked. "I thought you would be able to answer that for yourself. I'm trying to be different, fix my name. Be a better person." Draco answered. "How did you remember that I believed in blibbering humdingers and crumple horned snorkacks?" I say, following Draco onto the train. "Well, I know you've mentioned them both quite a few times. And I listen, even when it doesn't seem like I do. Now when you're done questioning me, we should find a compartment, the train's going to leave soon like you said and the compartments are filling up."
Part of me wanted to ask Draco why he thought I would want to sit with him after he's been so horrible to me in the past, but the other part of me, the stronger part knew that he had changed. So I followed Draco and we started looking for an empty compartment. "Here. This one's empty." Draco said. We walked in and sat down across from each other. "So Goyle didn't want to come back?" I asked as the train started to move. "Yeah, he seemed to think that his education was fine. I guess he did finish school at Hogwarts last year." Draco replied looking out the window. "Yeah I guess he did." I said looking out the window too. "Do you miss him?" I ask suddenly. "Who?" said Draco, looking puzzled. "Crabbe." I say. "Oh, him," says Draco with a definite tone of bitterness in his voice. "I don't know, he went sort of... rogue in the end. If I could have, I definitely would have saved him if I could've, but he was nowhere in sight. But yeah, I miss him, I guess. He was there through it all."
We sat in silence for a few more minutes then Draco said "I'm really sorry that you got captured last year. I just thought at first that I was doing something cool and fun, but then it got darker and darker. Now, I would do just about anything to remove this ugly skull from my arm." he rolled back his sleeve and revealed a black skull with a snake protruding from its mouth like a tongue. I stared at the ugly mark on his arm until he covered it up again. That was when I noticed that he was wearing a long sleeved turtle-neck even though it was summer. I guessed it was to hide the dark mark on his forearm. "There's no way to remove it?" I asked incredulously. "No way that involves me keeping my arm." Draco said smiling grimly.
