When we entered the great hall Malfoy left us, phew! I didn't know how much longer I could go without yelling at him. I wanted to ask him so bad "Why do you think we'll forgive you? What have you ever done to make us decide to just forget all the name-calling, the tripping and the jinxing?" But I had managed not to and now he was finally gone. I didn't know if I could ever forgive him. When we reached the Ravenclaw table, Luna left to sit down and the rest of us continued to the Gryffindor table. We all sat down and then turned to watch the sorting.
When the sorting was over food appeared on the golden plates and everyone dug in. I kept glancing over at the Ravenclaw table. Luna wasn't looking at us, or at least she wasn't when I was looking at her. Every once in a while I would catch her looking at a girl with thick, curly auburn hair and blue-gray eyes. I recognized that girl, she was the one who had called Luna "Loony" and who had been proud about abandoning Hogwarts when the death eaters came. I could tell that Luna wanted to say something to her, I kept thinking in my head "Don't say anything Luna! And if you do, be polite!" I thought this because I could see a prefects badge gleaming on the girls chest.
After dinner was over, everyone was dismissed. I saw Luna walking out of the Great Hall with Malfoy. Maybe he had changed, maybe he had changed to much. He obviously wasn't seeing Luna as "Loony" anymore which was great. But I wonder whether he was seeing Luna as just a friend or... maybe more of a... no, of course not. This is Draco Malfoy, pure-blood, death eater for two years, Draco Malfoy.
When I walked into the common room, I looked around. The room bore no signs of a war. No part of the castle did, they had done a good job of cleaning the place up. I gazed into the twinkling fire, I wanted nothing more than to sit in one of the squashy armchairs by the fire and gaze into it all night. But at the very thought, my eyes began to droop with sleepiness. I walked slowly and tiredly up the staircase to the seventh year boys dormitory. They had kept my old dormitory for Harry, Ron and I, instead of giving it to the first years as they always did once the seventh years left. They gave an extra dormitory to the new first years and I could see a couple of them slipping through the door.
I went through the door to my own dormitory and received a shock, Seamus Finnigan and Dean Thomas were standing attaching posters to the side of their beds. "What are you two doing here? I didn't see you at the feast!" I exclaimed loudly causing Seamus to drop his poster of the Appleby Arrows. "We decided to come back!" Dean said excitedly. "We barely made it onto the train, and we had to explain to Professor Sprout why we came, because they weren't expecting us. So we missed dinner and had to eat in Professor Sprout's office!" He finished explaining just as he pinned an immobile picture of a muggle soccer team up. I opened my mouth to tell them how happy I was that they were here, and that now we, Harry and Ron could all finish our education together as was intended, when Harry and Ron walked in talking happily. "What're you guys doing here?' asked Ron, goggling Dean and Seamus. So then Seamus had to explain all over again as I only half listened while changing into my pajamas.
I was still wondering whether maybe Malfoy did... but it was impossible. He and Luna had only become friends today. So he couldn't... could he? No.Before I sat down on the floor where all the other boys were sitting talking, I assured myself that even if he did, Luna wouldn't feel the same way.
