A Very Goode Christmas
Day 12
Cammie pov
“Daddy come on!” I heard followed by a groan from Zach. I laughed at his reaction. We thought it would be a nice idea to go ice skating as a family. That was until our 5 year old son Matthew wanted to race his dad. Apparently he couldn't go fast enough. I was sitting on the side-lines with our second child Lily watching them. She was 3 years old and too young to be out on the ice. Plus with my pregnancy and bulging belly it would be hard for me to help her.
That's right I'm pregnant again. I'm almost 6 months in right now. This time we decided to keep the gender a secret which meant no labs from Liz.
Anyway a lot has happened in the last 5 years. For one the baby was born. We decided to name him Matthew after my father. It felt like the right thing to do. My pregnancy wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Zach, on the other hand, drew me crazy. He wouldn't even let me go to do any missions even when my bump wasn't showing. He almost made me not go to work in general. I knew I had to draw the line with him there. As a compromise I decided to help out the Gallagher Academy like the days when Zach and I were engaged.
My mother was trying to freak me out about child birth. I'd be lying if I said it didn't work. Even though the pain was excruciating it was worth it. He was a little 7 ounce bundle of joy. I was afraid I would hurt him at first because he looked so small and fragile.
I just couldn't believe I was a mother. Yeah it got frustrating at times but it's the best feeling in the world when your child looks up at you with their cute smile and wide eyes. Then they begin to talk and walk. I still remember Matt's first word, surprisingly it wasn' mom or dad. His first word was spy from hearing Zach saying it so much while pointing at himself. Yup after all those years and he still does it, somethings never change. Honestly he did it to me yesterday. My point is that I have a feeling he's going to grow up to be a great spy. There's no doubt that Matt will be going to Blackthorne and Lilly to Gallagher. All we have left is to figure out where the next little one will go.t
Zach explained to me his worries about my pregnancy. As it turned out both of us were scared to become parents. We both also wanted a big family being only children ourselves. I smiled at the thought of increasing the size of our family as Lilly tugged on my coat.
“Yes Sweetie?” I asked her lifting her up due to the fact that I couldn't bend down as easily as I used to. “me hungry” She recently started to form sentences. They may not be grammatically correct but it's a sentence nonetheless. Both our children were smart for their age, there was no doubt they would make good spies.
“Come on let's get you food.” I say still holding her. We walked over to the food area after telling Zach and Matthew to join us. “Are you ok?” Zach asked holding Matt's hand. I nodded rubbing my stomach. I've been getting a few kicks every now and then, nothing minor. “I'm fine you big baby” I told him kissing his cheek. “I love you Cammie” I smirked at him “I know” He playfully glared at me.
“Now that's not a good example for the kids” Before he could say anything else we arrived at the food court.“Can I have soda?” Matt asked using his puppy dog eyes. Curse Bex for ever showing him that. “You had soda yesterday” Zach told him attempting to reason with him. He sighed yet letting it go. “Why don't we get you some hot chocolate and fruit?” I suggest. His eyes light up as he nods enthusiastically. I knew all he heard was hot chocolate. Kids will be kids.
“What about you Lilly?” She nods too, her little blonde hair bouncing. Lilly looked more like me with her blonde hair and my personality, however she had Zach's green eyes. Matthew has brown hair with light blonde highlights and most of my eyes but if you look closely you would find specks of green in them. He had a mix of Zach and I's personality. I wonder what the new baby would look like. Would it have blonde hair, brown or a mix? What color would it's eyes be?
Zach goes and orders for us while I find a table and get the kids seated. This proved to be a hard task considering the place was nearly packed. Apparently a lot of people want to go ice skating in December, 12 days before Christmas.
We don't normally do things like this often. Zach and I still go on missions but not as much as we used to. Mathew mostly understands our occupation while Lily is slowly getting it. We decided as parents not to keep our kids in the dark about what we do since we plan on enrolling them in spy school. They're smart enough to know when it's inappropriate to not mention this which is basically anytime except for when we were with each other or another spy.
It was a struggle getting their hands washed and getting them to sit down. Lilly was too busy jumping all over the place and Matthew was spinning in circles shouting ice cream. Where did he get ice cream from especially in this weather? I had no idea what happened to them in the 27.4 seconds Zach left.
I eventually managed to get their hands as clean as they would let me. This was one of the hard parts of being a mother. Zach came back with a tray filled with food. My mouth waters at the sight of fries and burgers. By the way I’m eating it'll take weeks to lose all the weight.
He stopped them before they began eating. “Be Goode little children” I rolled my eyes at his statement while the kids laughed. Nevertheless it was a fun family moment we shared with each other. I smiled looked around to my family. I looked down at my stomach smiling at the future member of our family.
