Rexy crouched down. Ahkmenrah hoisted Nicky up first. Then he smiled at me, "I hope you like adventures, my dear." Before I could respond, he lifted me up and helped me onto the dinosaur's back. Then, he hopped on.
I wrapped my arms around Nicky. "Ready, kiddo?" I whispered. He nodded and smiled.
"You kids be safe," Dad patted my leg as Rexy stood up. Ahkmenrah gripped my waist tightly. "And don't get too comfortable back there!"
"Not to worry, Larry," replied the Pharaoh.
Dad nodded at him and rode off into the snow. Rexy roared. The miniature Hummer followed Texas, the bone trailing behind it. Rexy ran after it. The ride was bumpy, but Nicky couldn't stop laughing. He was having the time of his life. Seeing him this way made me happy as well. Ahkmenrah smiled at me and gripped me tighter as the dinosaur treaded through the thick snow.
We made it to Central Park. I could see I slight silhouette of Dad on the other side of the trees. In front of him was the stage coach. Rexy roared as we reached the turn. The little Hummer made the sharp left, and we confronted Cecil. He didn't stop, however. He passed us and nearly ran over Octavius and Jed. The little Hummer swerved before off-roading and crashing into a small pile of snow. There was a tiny explosion. I heard Nicky gasp. The stage coach kept going with the tablet.
Dad continued to go after Cecil. But Rexy lost his motivation, now that his bone was gone. Ahkmenrah hopped down and held his arms out. I had never really liked heights.
"Trust me," he nodded reassuringly. I jumped off the dinosaur's back and the Pharaoh caught me. "I will never let you fall," he whispered.
I smiled. But the moment was ruined when I heard my brother shout, "A little help here?"
Ahkmenrah helped Nicky down and he nodded at us, "We have to help Dad. Come on!" The ten year old began in a full-on sprint. Ahkmenrah and I followed him.
In the distance, I heard Dad yell, "Dakota!" Immediately, the stage coach stopped and Cecil flew from the front seat, along with the tablet.
Attila and his men found us. Ahkmenrah greeted them. Walking toward us was Dad. He had Cecil in one hand and the tablet in the other.
"Hey, Huns!" said the crusty old night guard as Dad handed him off.
"Tell Attila to have his boys take him back to the museum. Put him with the rest of the guards," Dad told Ahkmenrah. He spoke to them. Attila nodded and looked at Dad. "Oh," he continued, "No limb ripping." Attila sighed and pleaded with Dad.
"Mi ka ka?" Asked the Hun
"Ma ki ka ka." Dad smiled.
Attila shouted to his men the instructions. The took Cecil away as he pleaded with Dad. Ahkmenrah took my hand gently and smiled.
"Oh boy," Dad mumbled.
"What is it?" Ahkmenrah asked, concerned. When I looked off into the distance, I noticed the sun was coming up.
"I gotta get you guys back to the museum.." Dad replied. He gripped the tablet tightly.
"How?" I asked, patting Nicky on the shoulder.
"Ahkmenrah," Dad said, walking towards us, "I'm gonna need your help. This is your tablet. You know the instructions. I need you to get everyone back."
Ahkmenrah nodded, letting go of my hand. He took the tablet from Dad and began to speak to in in Egyptain. The tablet began to glow. He looked at me and smiled. Suddenly, all the things surrounding me, Rexy, a mammoth, an antelope, and all kinds of different animals began to walk towards the museum. Ahkmenrah took my hand again and we followed.
Dad took out his phone. "Come on," he said, "there's somebody who's gotta see this."
