Chapter Twenty
Sara's POV
The fire spread as the flames started to lick the door. Moments turned into seconds. And seconds turned into minutes before I realized the deception. My exit was being blocked. The betrayal I felt stung and for moments on end. I felt like crying and just giving up.
With a final slash my wrists were free. I gently massaged my wrists as I unbound my feet and got up.
The smoke was making me feel faint and I felt like I was burning in intense heat. The door was covered in flames. My face was covered in soot as my bookshelf fell to the ground in a heap of flames. I let out a cough tears brewing in my eyes. I rip my sheets off and try putting out the fire. After nothing working it dawned on me my only escape was the window. Which the fire was getting to.
I pull my phone out of my pocket grateful it was there but sighed. I called 911 and someone was on the way. By the time someone came no matter how fast I would be burned to a crisp.
I crawled towards the window. My body feeling weak. My window was high up. The jump would kill me. Or injure me greatly at the least. I had no other choice. The entire room was in flames. I was already half way out the window to protect myself.
I felt weak and let go of the rail. Instantly the world slipped from my hands as I landed on the ground. Pain coursed through my body. My room exploded and random parts of my body felt like they were burning. I felt a warm liquid pool around me. It was my blood.
"Sara...." There was no mistaking the sea green eyes that looked into my brown ones. Kiely looked up at me sadly. She looked differant. Her hair was shorted and she wore a black hoodie over her head. "Don't leave me." She whispered.
"Kiely, your alive?" I responded weakly as I started coughing like theres no tomorrow.
"I'm always with you. Dead or alive." She spoke gently.
"Sara! Sara!" A male voice screamed. Kiely looked like a frightened deer as she ran off. "What happpened?" Aiden asked tears in his eyes.
"Jenna set the fire. She wanted me dead. I begged her not to. It was Jenna. Shes not Jennifer!" I spoke through coughs.
"Sara you need a medic. You can explain later. I just saw Jenna running with a huge bag.... Oh my god! She was fleeing." Gasped Aiden. He gently kissed my forehead.
Sirens wailed and paramedics arrived. They gently placed me down and started poking around my body. But my gaze was fixed on Aiden. A paramedic stuck a needle in my arm and everything went black. But I swear I heard Aiden say.
"I love you."
