So, apparently, my no-good cousin Alicia's boyfriend has a band. Or lack there of. All they need is a drummer. I figured my social life could use a boost so why not? It's not like I have anything else to do anyways.
When you look at me, you see trouble. You can see it in my mischievous grin, my grey eyes full of mystery, my voice full of curiosity. For some reason people are drawn to me, though I wish I could say the same. No one understands; gets music, gets why I play the drums.
It's an escape.
An escape from the horrors, the pain in peoples expressions. You can't live a life hidden from sadness, and you can't hide forever. So why let it drag you down? Music is my escape. Some people read, dance or write. When I was little I tried each, yet it didn't give me relief. So, when I accidentally stumbled upon the drums, I was saved. Saved from myself.
I penny boarded to the address Alicia had texted me, specifically saying to knock on the garage door. God knows why. I grabbed my drumsticks from my back pocket, picking up my penny board and tapping a rhythm from My Generation by The Who. After a solid minute, a guy with bright green hair lifts the garage door up, waking me up from my rhythm induced trance.
I give him a sweet smile.
"I'm here for the drummer audition-Alicia McDonald sent me."
"I'm Michael, come on in. This is Luke," He points to the tall blonde. "and this is Calum." His hair was a dark brown, almost the exact shade of his large round eyes.
Sweet Jesus, they were all so attractive. I could tell almost immediately that they were the kind of guys I could become good friends; a band with.

"You really want me to?"
"Oh come on Ashton please? Just give the drums a try, you'll like them I promise."
"Kendra, they're just not my thing. I want to play the guitar. I can't start learning the drums if I can't even play guitar!"
"Fine. But promise you'll try once you can play the guitar?"
"Promise."
"Maybe I'll even get you a drum set for your tenth birthday, Ash.
"Whatever Kendra."

The boys were really cool, chill as well. And their music? Absolutely bitchin'. I was almost for certain I could be in their band.
"So boys, when's our next rehearsal?"
A/N: Hi luvs :) So this is basically the start of this idea I had at three AM a couple days ago... Not sure in the direction I want it to go in but if you have any ideas, don't be afraid to comment it, I'll take all the suggestions I can get. I was thinking maybe doing a flashback in each chapter, as well as the chapters alternating from Ashton's POV to Kendra's POV. Don't forget to vote, and I'll luff you forever! <3
