*Ashton’s POV*
Swallow the goldfish was probably the worst band name in the world. But it was our band name, and I loved it. Sure, we weren’t that great, but we were a serious band. I could count on the boys, know that they were ready to commit. There aren’t a lot of teenage boys who will.
Practice went alright, although I’m not sure our lead singer is what we need. Neither is the guitarist. Or the bassist. In reality, we were a mess. But we were a reliable mess. Unlike Luke and friends. They goofed around, and made youtube videos.
Youtube videos. That’s probably dumber than our band name. Who’s gonna watch them? Billie Joe? No one is going to find them and think, “wow, they’re gonna go places”. Ever.
I was thinking this as I played My Generation by The Who on my kit. Good song, difficult rhythm. I only actually know one person that can play it. Well, I knew one person that can play it.

“Ash, it’s soooo easy! I promise you just have to practice it and you’ll get it eventually!”
“But you make it look soooo easy! I just can’t like you, Kendra.”
“Well, not yet. But you will, I know it. I think if you kept practicing you could be better than me.”
“At the drums? Are you hallucinating? I haven’t met one person that’s better than you.”
“Me neither. But there has to be a better drummer than a fifteen year old girl.”
“Not in my books.”
“Whatever Ashton.”

“Ashyyyyyy!”
“Oh, hey Lauren.”
“Where’s Kendra? She hasn’t been here for like, forever!”
“It hasn’t been forever L, it’s been three months.”
“Three months since you had that fight?”
“Exactly.”
“When are you gonna apologize?”
“I don’t think I can this time, Lauren.”
