We decided to stop at Chick-fil-A. Jason wanted to go to Subway, saying that it was on the way to where we were going and Chick-fil-A was in the opposite direction. I told him he could pick the music when we got back in the car. He immediately made the U-turn.
Jason
Brooke made the right choice about Chick-fil-A. Subway doesn't have soft serve and waffle fries. "So, what's your favorite color?" she asked. "Green, why?" She wiped her hands and mouth with a napkin. "I realized that even though we've gone to school together all I know is that you play football, you like me and that your favorite color is green." I took a sip of lemonade, " That makes sense. Okay, what's your favorite color?" "Stormy blue." I looked at her jacket. Yep, that makes sense. I tried to think of another question. " Chocolate or fruity?" She pondered. "I like fruity gummies and white chocolate." We kept this going for a little while. I found out that her favorite movie is Shrek, she hates bananas, and wants to go to the Naval Academy. "Why do you want to go to the Naval Academy?" She shrugged, "I honestly don't know. It's just been my dream since I was little."
I was a little surprised that she wanted to go into the military, but Brooke is full of surprises. Like, I was not expecting her to like Billy Joel. "So what do you want to major in?" I sat back in my seat. "I want to be in the medical field, so biology it is." I polished off my lemonade. "How are your parents?" "They're good, They're in LA for business right now." We continued to eat our food and talk.
When we got back in the car, Brooke started to plug in her phone, then she remembered that it was my turn to pick the music. I unplugged her phone and turned on the radio. Ariana Grande's "7 rings" was playing. We started singing along, dancing a little and laughing. It was so easy being around her. At school, she's always so quiet, even as the cheer captain. I do wish she'd open up more. The only people she really talks to are Olive and Ethan, who I suspected something is going on between them. Hopefully soon, I'll be on that list as well.
