Richie fell asleep while studying, again. His mother calmly opened the door of the boy's room and smiled at the sight in front of her. She lightly shook her son's shoulder to wake him up, so he could go to bed.
He slowly opened his eyes and sighed. He got up, still half asleep, and started walking towards his bed. Before he could get into the comfort of his warm bed, a loud knock on the front door was heard."I'll go get it, mom." Richie said.
But before his mom could protest, he was already on his way to the front door.
He opened it to find a freezing Mike, covered in tears and sweat, with a look of sadness in his eyes.
The night could be beautiful, if it wasn't for the heart-breaking sight in front of Richie."Mike? What's wrong-"
Before Richie could finish his sentence, Mike started talking.
"It's true, you were right from the beginning. I am adopted, Richie. My whole life is a lie..." His voice was cracking up and Richie couldn't help himself but to pull Mike into a tight hug during his desperate speech.
He mumbled some more stuff before he broke into sobs once again."Oh Mike... it's fine, I'm here... let's go inside, okay?"
Mike slowly nodded and they got in the house. Maggie sprinted down the stairs, to find Richie leading Mike to the bathroom.
"Mike, honey, are you okay? Let me go get a jacket for you. Richie prepare him a warm cup of tea."
Richie nodded and lead Mike to the kitchen table. Mike couldn't speak, it was hard to believe that Maggie was the woman that gave birth to him and still left him.
A few seconds after he sat down at the table, Maggie appeared with a jacked in her arms. It was a green fluffy one, to warm him up.
"There you go, honey." She said putting it around his back. She sat down next to him, just to get a good look at him. Three minutes after, Richie appeared with a cup of tea in his hands. He handed it to Mike who took it, but didn't drink it.
"You should drink it, Mike. You're freezing." Richie told him.
"Sorry... Maggie, can I ask you something?" Mike said breaking out of his thoughts.
"Anything honey."
"Did you... did you give birth to twins?" He asked, sending her a sharp look.
"Oh boy..." She sighed as she sat more comfortably. "Yes, Mike, I did give birth to twins. I suppose you already know everything..."
"Yes. Why did you abandon me?" He wasted no time. He was furious, curious, and sad.
"Honey." She put her hand on his but he took it away from her. She sighed, but still talked.- "When you boys were born, we didn't have any conditions. We knew we only had money to raise one child, and still, it was barely enough. Trust me, I didn't put you to adoption because I liked Richie better. I LOVED you both equally. But me and your dad found it easier to not think too hard about it, or else it would be more painful than it already was."
Mike stared at her before scoffing to the side. Maggie sighed again.
"Me and your father cried rivers for almost an year. But it was the best for everyone. You had the opportunity to live a better life, but I just couldn't bring myself up to put you two both to adoption... my after-birth depression hit me really hard. Like really really hard. I didn't know if I was good enough to raise Richie, I didn't know if you were going to be okay, I felt guilty, dirty, and a monster. Thank God your father was there to help me."
"Your father was there to what?" Wentworth asked from the top of the stairs.
"How much did you listen?" Maggie asked him with a smile, taking this opportunity to take Mike and Richie's hands into her own. She wiped a tear away from her face.
"Enough to know that I should be joining." He said as he walked down the stairs to sit next to Richie.
"Mike, I want you to know that none of us hate you. We love you so much son-" Wentworth was interrupted by Mike's voice.
"Don't." He said breaking into sobs again. He hid his face in hands as Richie drew circles on his back. Mike leaned against Richie and Wentworth and Maggie shared looks.
"Honey, you're going to sleep with Richie tonight. You've been through a lot today. It's probably the best." Mike nodded as Richie lead him up the stairs.

Mike opened his eyes to find himself alone on the bed. He slowly got up and walked down the stairs to find Richie making pancakes, Maggie and Wentworth sipping on their tea as they smiled at Mike.
"Morning pal! How you doin' in this fine morning?" Richie asked with an awful British accent.
"Richie you're gonna bURN THE PANCAKES-" Wentworth screamed.
Richie screamed as well as he noticed the pan was almost on fire. Mike just stared as Richie and Wentworth tried to cool the pan down.
Maggie sighed. It was definitely not the first time this happened.
"Morning honey. How are you feeling?" She asked him as he sat next to her.
"Better I guess. Sometimes you just need a good night of sleep."
"Yeah and oh boy did you sleep. You snore louder than my dad-" Richie said as he got smacked on the head by his father. They were both still trying to fill the pan with water.
"Not the moment, Richard." Richie rubbed his head as he smiled at his father.
Mike giggled and smiled at the sight in front of him. Maybe this wasn't so bad. Yeah no it's still terrible. But he can deal with it.

"MIKE YOU SHOULD REALLY STOP DOING THIS!" Max yelled as she smacked her friend's head.
"Ow! I was at Richie's!"
"Yeah I know! Do you know the panic we were in last night, when Will told us you were nowhere to be seen?! It was 2 am, Mike!"
"Sorry... I should have called."
"It's fine just... don't do it again." El said as she kissed him on the cheek.
Richie gave Mike a look that only him could really read. It was a 'do you want to tell them?' look.
Mike sighed as he sat down next to Richie on the hammock.
"I didn't come to the hotel last night because I was at Richie's. Not for fun, actually. Last night was everything but fun." All eyes were on him. "Last night I found out I... am adopted. And... I found out that Richie is my actual twin. And... my mom sent us to Derry, not because it was a paradisiac island, but because my biological family is here." He said as he played around with his fingers.
"Wow... I always thought you guys were so much alike but... wow..." Beverly said as she looked at the rest of the boys. They weren't that surprised and that was weird.
"Was this why you...-?" She asked as she pointed at El and made a few gestures.
"Yeah pretty much yeah." Dustin said.
"Well. I'm happy you finally found out Mike." She said putting an arm around him. Honestly, he didn't know if he was happy or sad. Maybe a mixture? He just smiled.
Now, Mike isn't a person that likes to have all of the attention to himself. So he looked at Richie with a smirk and said "You know, I wasn't the only one that-" Richie sent him a glare and everyone was confused. Like, really confused.
