Narrator POV
Hyakkaou Private Academy has a hierarchy system where only the best at gambling are at the top.
Itsuki Sumeragi was at the top of this system until she was beaten by Yumeko Jabami at a rigged game.
"How pathetic, a house pet beating me." she kept repeating that line over, and over, and over again. The reality of the situation hadn't hit until she was "fired" from the Student Council by her partner in crime and crush, Kaede Manyuda.
"You're releasing me!?"
"I'm sorry, but you lost to a house pet."
"So did Yuriko!"
He stayed quiet after that. Then he started
"Kirari told me to tell you that."
She looked at the ground, her eyes were tearing up as she clenched her fist.
Until he said,
"I had no say in it. If it were up to me Yuriko would be a house pet, and We would be head of the Student Council."
He picked up her chin to make her look at him. There were tears in her eyes.
There was a moment of silence between the two as they stared at each other not daring to say a word.
It was peaceful.
Until...
"Can you two love birds get out of the office?"
And, moment ruined.
Runa came bursting into the room with her goons behind her.
Kaede let go of her chin and looked away out of embarrassment. Itsuki did the same. There faces red.
