The sound of you swatting the back of Scouts head was a daily occurrence now.
"Hey! What was dat for? I didn't do nothing!" Scout protested, rubbing the spot where you hit him. It was 11:30 am, and it was true, Scout hadn't done anything. You had started doing that when Scout said anything embarrassing or something of the like, but now you do it whenever you want, and it was, in a weird way, how you showed your affection to him. You always had a crush on Jeremy since the day you started. Thankfully, you were always good at hiding the fact that you liked someone. It was easy for you to talk with the people you liked as if you were just great friends, and Jeremy was no exception. You were thankful that he had pegged you one of his best friends, meaning that you could hang out with him whenever you wanted.
"I know, I just felt like it." You said, walking past him to get breakfast. It was a ceasefire day, so you slept in, grateful that you didn't have to wake up to the sound of Soldier screaming his lungs out. You went over to the fridge, and grabbed pancakes, strawberries, whipped cream, and chocolate syrup. A special breakfast for a special day.
"(Y/N)..." Scout grumbled, looking at you with a pained face. "You makin' what I think you're makin'? You can't make dat every ceasefire day, it ain't healthy."
You stuck out your tongue. "I'll do what I want, thank you very much!" You say while you assemble the breakfast. "Where are the other guys? It's not like the guys to be sleeping in late." You looked toward the hallway where the rooms connected to the common room.
"Y-Ya, kinda weird, ain't it?" He said, rubbing the back of his neck. He stood up and walked over to the couch and sat down, gesturing for you to sit down next to him. Although you were confused, you did what he said and flopped onto the couch where he gestured.

~~Meanwhile, somewhere else in the (RED/BLU) base~~

Sniper was watching the screens that showed what the security cameras that Engie had installed for safety. Every other merc knew that Scout had a crush on you. It was obvious to them, but you were a little oblivious to it, knowing that he flirted with every girl he talked to. Sniper got a little too excited as he saw what was happening. The day before, Scout had had a heart to heart with the other mercs and told them he was going to tell you that he liked you the next day, and in preparation, Sniper, being the one who always woke up first (meaning at the crack of dawn), went up to the security room and started watching the live feed. And it wasn't your typical grocery store camera, it was a top of the line camera invented by Engie himself, not to mention that there was high quality audio, too. When he saw what Scout was doing, he got up and sprinted to the others rooms, yelling at them to get out of bed.
"OI! Get outta bed! Scouts gonna tell sheila right now! Medic, go an' get Spy!" He said, almost out of breath from the sudden sprint. After hearing this, it was no mystery why everyone shot out of their beds and followed Mundy, guiding them to the security room. After they were all there, no one could sit down.
"I cannot wait for Scout to tell zhe Fräulein!
"Aye, but shut up! I can't hear the lad!"
"Oh please, 'ou both are making ze most noise. 'Ou should be glad I haven't taken care of 'ou already."
"I think I might love what's about to happen more than America!"
Sniper had had enough. "Oi! You're going to miss it!"

~~Back at the common room~~

"So, uh, I-I wanted to tell ya somethin'." His face became redder than a stop sign.
"Yeah, whassup?" You said, heart beating a little faster, hoping you knew what was coming.
"I uh, I need to tell ya somethin," He was even more flustered than usual. "Uh, ya been on my mind recently- well, not recently, ever since the day ya joined the team, (Y/N)- and uh, I-I think your really pretty and brave and strong, and I probably getting ahead of myself, but uh- I feel my best around ya, like ya can accept me for who I am and I can be myself." He clears his throat "I'm probably getting ahead of myself and you probably don't even feel the same way that I feel about you. Well- I- what I'm trying to s-say is that I really like you, (Y/N), I like you a lot and I hope that I haven't ruined anything between us, that I haven't made it awkward-" His speech is cut short by you kissing him. A few moments pass and you pull away. He's still speechless. "...wow." He says breathlessly.
You smile and laugh for a second. "Of course I like you, dummy! Ever since the first day, actually. I'm just really good at hiding it..." You trail off and Jeremy grabs your hand.
"Haha, I really wish I woulda said it earlier." He puts his hand on your neck with his thumb on your cheek and kisses you again, this time more passionate.

~~Back in the security room~~

It was complete pandemonium when you two kissed. Demo pulled out the alcohol, Spy was uncharacteristically cheering as loud as he could, punching the air, Engie was on his knees sobbing with joy, Pyro flat out fainted, and Heavy was singing gloriously.

~~Once again in the common room~~

You might have guessed it, but Scout was very affectionate after a bit. There weren't many moments where he wasn't showing it.
"J-Jeremy..." You said as he moved to your neck. Scout paused for a second before continuing again.
"How do you know my name? I haven't shared it with anyone." He asked, now at your jaw.
"I h-have my ways. And no, it wasn't Spy." You say, telling the truth. He hit a soft spot and you grabbed onto his shirt. Suddenly there was a thud. Demo had wandered in in a drunken stupor.
"DAMN IT DEMO!" Jeremy shouts as he stands up and runs after him. Demo is still sober enough to realize what was happening and ran back to the security room, Jeremy behind. A few minutes later, you hear the other mercs cheering and Scout yelling from a distance. "Seriously guys?! You were watching the entire time?!"
You laugh, face reddening, and then sighed. Your dream had come true.
