"And the seventh thing I like the most that you do..." I sang breathlessly, tears streaming down my face, my throat aching painfully. I looked over to the side of the massive stage to find a concerned look on my Mom's face.

"Hang in there" She mouthed. I nodded in pain and looked ahead at the crowd. I was in the middle of performing at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards and I was clearly having a hard time getting through with it emotionally. I could literally feel my heart aching as I was desperately looking anywhere but the seats to the far left.

"You make me f ucking love you." I spoke instead of sang. The whole crowed cheered and joined in a chorus of laughter. "D amn, that's some b ullshit." I laughed, shaking my head and slowly wiping my still-fresh tears. My eyes were hot and probably red. My throat still throbbed to my disadvantage. I was sobbing early on before the performance, and broke down during.

I finally caught myself glance to the 3 seats to the far left. There beheld a puppy eyed Nick Jonas, whispering something to his older brother, Kevin. S hit, Nick was perfect. His curly brown hair sat perfectly on the top of his head. He still had an adorable baby face. Pink plump lips accompanied by an adorable tiny brown beauty mark placed right above them, chocolate brown eyes, and perfectly chubby cheeks. I snapped myself out of my Nick Jonas filled daydream and quickly glared back to the crowd, putting on a glassy smile. I waved, walking off and to the backstage. Basically backstage was just a long mass of hallways, celebrities, and really nervous workers with headpieces on trying their best to make the show halfway decent. To my belief, they failed miserably.

"D amn, Miles. You did amazing." Greeted my best friend, Savannah Collinsby in one of the thousands of hallways. She had an excited look on her gorgeous face. Her blonde curls pooled over her shoulders and her piercing green eyes looked right into mine. She had pale skin and perfectly proportioned, red lips. I always thought she looked like a young Marilyn Monroe.

"Really? 'Cause to me that entire performance was a mass of tears, attempts to hit notes and loud breaths." I sighed, crossing my arms and looking to the ground. I had worn a Nirvana t-shirt, black leggings topped off by black converse. My hair was pin straight and I admitted, I wore a lot of eyeliner that I thanked the heavens was waterproof on stage.

"That's such a lie. It was amazing. And I think you crying is amazing, not because you were in pain, but because you really showed the world who Miley Cyrus REALLY is." She chirped, lifting my chin up with her index finger and flashed me her white-toothed smile. I couldn't help but smile back as her bubbly personality hit me with a pang.

Somewhere deep inside of me I knew, though that me "showing the world who I really am", is going to be perceived as a billion different things in the tabloids. The world found out about Nick and I, and they just as quickly found out we broke up. They obviously know I'm not happy, but they don't know how bad I'm getting. Before this breakup, that happened just a month ago, I never touched an illegal substance in my life. 'Drinking' was thought of as drinking milk by me. Life was completely simplistic and innocent. But then things got bad between Nick and I. He started talking to our colleague, Selena Gomez. Yep, the Selena Gomez. Wizards of Waverly Place's, "Alex Russo". Hollywood's sweetheart. I was totally okay with it because the guy's aloud to have friends. But then talking turned to flirting, 'hanging out' turned into going on dates and happy Miley turned into worried and wrecked Miley. When we broke up, a part of me died. I sat down with a few friends just the night of our breakup and wrote the masterpiece that is "7 Things". That's how the ever-so-famous line 'You love me, you like her' was sprung up.

"Now, lets leave this dump and get some Chinese" She laughed, locking her arm in mine. I nodded, giggling to myself and bounced down the hallways with Savannah on my arm. I tried my best to push away the memories of Nick and I trying to play in my mind. Lately I had found myself replaying them over and over in my head and I didn't know if it was a sign of missing him or being completely and utterly pissed off. As I caught thoughts wandering, my body slammed against someone else's.

"S hit! I'm so sorry!" He cussed in a deep Australian accent. I didn't have the guts to look at him, so I looked at a grinning Savannah, nodding to herself, encouraging me to look in his eyes.

"I-It's fine." I smiled, catching myself looking up at him. He was gorgeous. Striking blue eyes, with a stunning tan complexion and perfectly messy dirty blonde hair. The complete opposite of Nick.... Yes. On top of that all, he had an accent which I never admitted but was totally my guilty pleasure.

"I'm Liam." He introduced himself, his curvy lips stretched into a smile and he held out a hand which I quickly shook. His hand on mine kind of felt like magic and I found myself smiling like a fool.

"Miley." I responded, blushing away.

"Miley.... I like that. It's brilliantly different. And I think you are, too." Liam explained. He was also smiling like a doofus, but I found it adorable. "Miley, we just met but i already think you're gonna change me."

"Is that so?"

"It is. Giving me your number would make it so much easier on future Liam who will do his best to pry your number out of Savannah's phone." He flirted, running a hand through his hair.

"Hmm... Well, when future Liam replays this conversation back in his head, he'll remember me accepting his thank you. You're welcome, future Liam." I nodded as Liam pulled out his phone, allowing me to press my digits in.

"See ya later, present Miley." He smirked, sticking his hands in his pockets and slowly striding along.

I greeted Savannah again, listening to her soft squeals of excitement. Locking my arm in hers, I watched her expression turn from excited to nervous as her eyes met Nick's from across the room. I looked over at him and his jealous eyes met mine.
