Today was just one of those days Renjun was in a fairly happy mood. He woke up at a good time this morning. Got ready pretty quick. And even had some time to spare before school. That being said he decided to skateboard there instead of waiting for the bus. Once he got to the front of the school he looked around at the practically empty campus. He must've been pretty early, and he was.

He walked inside the school and placed his skateboard in his locker, kind of unsure what to do next. He walked out to the courtyard and sat under a cherry blossom tree, pulling out his laptop and his earphones. He caught up on some homework while listening peacefully to music.

There weren't many students there yet, and Renjun hadn't seen anyone he recognized. But there were a few people there he knew. Lee Taeyong. Jung Jaehyun. And low and behold, Qian Kun. The boys had arrived early to finish up some banners for the Senior-Junior dance, and they finished quite early. Taeyong was the first to notice Renjun and he nudged Jaehyun's arm.

"Huh? What is it Tae?". Taeyong subtlety motioned towards Renjun. "Let's figure out a way to leave Kun alone so maybe he'll go over to Renjun." Jae smiled at him and nodded, then turning to Kun. "Hey Kun, Taeyong and I just remembered we have a history test to make up. And we don't wanna drag you along. Would you be ok just hanging around for a while?" Kun nodded and watched the two boys walk off hand-in-hand. 'I wish I could do that with someone he thought'. Just then Kun looked the other way and noticed Renjun. He contemplated going over to him, but eventually figured there was no harm in it. Maybe he could ask him about yesterday.

Kun approached Renjun and sat down next to him, the movement making Renjun look up. "Oh hey Kun hyung!" The excitement in Renjun's voice made Kun's world light up, and that adorable smile could make any day feel happy. "Hey Injunnie, do you always come this early?" "Nope, just got ready for school a bit early so I figured I'd just come." Renjun leaned closer to Kun and looked at the book in his hand. "You a bookworm or what?"

The close proximity made Kun more nervous than anything. He could feel Renjun softly breathing on his neck and their faces were only inches apart. "Yeah I like reading. It's fun to me." "That's cool, I'm more of a movie person." Renjun smiled at him and nodded in approval. 'Holy shit I'm gonna die' Kun thought. Renjun looked good. He always looked good. Kun wanted nothing more than to give him as little as a quick peck on the lips. Renjun wanted that too. But again, neither of them acted upon their desire.

For a while the two boys sat together. Talking and joking about their friend groups. They both had their differences, but they liked those differences about each other. Eventually they decided to get up and head to the main hallway to wait for the other guys.

The first two to walk in the school were Johnny and Ten. One of the school's cutest couples. Their height difference and all the love and affection Johnny gave Ten made nobody doubt they were practically made for each other. They were holding hands and Ten smiled when he saw Kun and Renjun.

"Well hey you two cuties." "Babe I am right here." Johnny shot Ten a glare with a slight pout on his lips. He was definitely a jealous type. "Oh you know I didn't mean it like that you tall dork." Ten hopped up to give Johnny a quick kiss on the cheek. "Hey Ten hyung!" Ten smiled and hugged Renjun. He treated him a lot like a son, and totally not because they were both shorties.

Renjun giggled and hugged him back, Johnny looked at Kun with a slight smirk. "So, what are you two doing here so early together?" Both Renjun and Kun blushed lightly and Kun rubbed the back of his neck with a nervous laugh. "Renjun just woke up a bit early and I had something to finish up with Jaehyun and Tae."

Ten and Johnny looked at each other then back at the two Chinese boys. "So you guys have just been hanging out together?" Ten questioned with a hint of mischief in his voice. "Yeah pretty much." Renjun looked up at Kun with a small smile.

Renjun then spotted his group of friends enter the school."I'll see you guys later alright. Thanks for hanging out with me Kun hyung. It's ok if you were forced to but still." Renjun gave him a small head bow and scurried off. Kun watched him with a slight look of shock in his face. Johnny looked at him and sighed.

"You weren't forced to, were you?" Kun shook his head and looked down "Jae and Tae had a thing in history so they left me. I saw Renjun and just thought I'd hang out with him." Ten frowned and pat his shoulder "It was nothing you did. Renjun's just weird like that. He doesn't really think people like him." Kun nodded, but still, he wished Renjun just magically knew how Kun felt about him.

After a few moments of uncomfortable silence Johnny spoke up. "So Kun, are you going to the dance?" "Well I would kinda be the only one of us there without a date. But Taeyong's been begging me to go. So yeah I guess I'm going." Winwin and Yuta stood around the corner and heard Kun's response. They smiled at each other and Winwin pulled out his phone to text Taeyong and Jaehyun. Now only the Dreamies had a job. Convince Renjun to go as well.
