3. The palace

It took us 20 minutes to get to the palace , it looked like it was from a fairy tail , it had a large garden leading to the main gate , guards were standing and they greeted bash as he was passing by them , They were looking at me with weird stares but I guess bash wasn't lying when he said he's in service of the queen because none of them dared to talk to him , we went to the stable to deliver the horse , a maid came by as soon as bash stopped

" your deputy , allow me to help you " the maid said , she didn't look that much older than I am.

" take this young lady to Nostradamus , make sure she gets a proper bath and a set of clothes before he checks up on her" bash said as he gave my bag to the maid

"Yes, of course, " the maid said as she helped me off the horse and told me to follow her into the castle.

I felt so naked walking around the palace with nothing but a hoodie , the maid stayed silent as she was leading me through the long corridors , didn't even give me a chance to look around and appreciate the incredible architectural details this place holds

" my name is Mira" I said to the maid, hoping to break the silence

She looked at me and stayed silent at first , I started getting even more nervous before she said " I'm Alice " she said

" what a nice name , I'm happy to know you Alice" I said with a smile ,She stayed silent until we got to the room where I'm supposed to get a bath

" wait here , I'll come to help you in a moment " Alice said as she left the room , she put my bag next to the door before she leaves , I took my phone out and started taking pictures of the ceiling , it had some pretty amazing paintings on it , I hid my phone back in the bag and started looking out of the window , this place is so big and colourful , it truly looks like a painting , I kept staring at the gardener who's tending the plants and to the pretty girls In fancy dresses walking by the roses . It didn't take long for Alice to come back with a dress in her hand .

" welcome back " I said with a smile , she stayed silent , I guess she doesn't like to talk . She immediately started drawing the bath for me .

" it's okay I can do it myself , I don't want to bother you " I said

" I have to heat the water " Alice said

" don't worry about it"

" do you need help washing up ? "

Well , this is awkward , I haven't been asked this since I was 6 years old

" I'll need help getting dressed " I said

" okay then , I will wait for you outside , you can knock on the door when you're done and Ill assist you " Alice said as she was leaving .

This is so nice , I didn't even imagine I'll be here after the rough night I had , I took out my bag , I took out the shampoo , I remember I was shopping for some stuff before I agreed to meet my friends by the lake , I put myself in the bath with the water being relatively cold , and started thinking about everything I've been through so far , I didn't notice myself sobbing , and I didn't notice that my cries were loud enough to cause Alice to walk back inside and ask if I'm okay.

" I don't remember how I got here" I said , tears still rolling down my face " I don't remember anything"

Alice stayed silent as she came to sit next to me " I'll help you wash up "

I nodded , trying to stop myself from crying , Alice started washing my hair for me .She held my head between her palms and started massaging it for me , her hands are so gentle , then she went and started washing my body for me , and once she was done she helped me stand up and wrapped a towel around me
