I find it strange to look around and see my idols in front of me, eating the soup I made them for a casual lunch. Had I been keeping myself from this life all along because of simple anxiety?

The group begins to migrate to the living room. Someone turns on Criminal Minds and things calm down, every one too full and sleepy to make much noise.

After an episode and a half he starts in again. As my eyes flutter, threatening to let me fall asleep, Peep pokes me in the side.

"What?" I hiss, internally smiling that he's paying attention to me.

"I'm hungry." He whines. I laugh and Tracy looks at me.

"Uhm, I'm trying to watch Criminal Minds, shuddup."

"Oh be quiet, you only watch it for JJ." I laugh at him. He grunts and my attention turns back to Peep with another sharp poke to the side. "Ok, dickface, that one hurt!" I scoff. He looks up at me with his pretty eyes and I smile.

"How can you be hungry we just ate?" I ask, forgetting my grievances.

"Yeah, so that was like an hour ago, and I want Chick-fil-A." He sasses. I hum, already re-involved in the episode.

I feel him pull my phone out of my hand and pay no mind until he holds it in front of me, silently asking for my password. After I put in my fingerprint he gently pulls it back to him.

I have nothing to hide that he would be able to find, so I don't care. He only has it for a minute before putting it back in my lap. A moment later it buzzes. I check it to find a notification from "Hottie". I chuckle quietly as I look at him, he has a goofy smile on his face. He put his number in my phone.

Hottie: chick-fil-a??

Max: hmm i actually have to go rn srry bbg

Hottie: :(((( you hate me

I can feel he slouched down beside me but my eye had caught the time and it was almost mid-day. I give him a smile as I get up from the couch.

"Hey guys, Imma head home right now, but I'll probably be back soon." I announce. There are a couple sad sounds and I receive hugs as I pull on my jacket.

Peep doesn't move from the couch, he's been smiling at his phone since I got up from the couch. Tracy gives me a look that says "don't take it personal" accompanied with a slightly sad smile. I smile back at him as I leaving the house. Once I'm outside I pull out my phone. I send Peep a quick text that reads:

"I'll be back in an hour to take you to Chik-fil-A, be ready."

I hope it makes him smile.

Back in my apartment I hop into the shower. Letting the party wash off of me and into the drain. Through the shower my mind was on one thing and one thing only. How can I get closer to him?

As I step out of the shower, my phone dings and I try not to rush to see his response. I force myself to brush my teeth and hair painstakingly slow before I open it.

Hottie: YIPPEE😍

I smile and heart the message. Making eye contact with myself in the mirror I feel embarrassed. He doesn't like me like I like him.
I shake the thought out of my head, that doesn't matter, I should feel lucky he likes me at all.

I take a moment to put on some simple make up, rubbing some black eyeliner around my eyes and a little mascara. I add a touch of highlighter and blush and go to put on an outfit.

After I finish tying my converse I check the time. It's been an hour since I texted him, so I guess I should  head back over. I make sure to grab my purse before leaving out the door.

When I get to their house there's no sign of him being ready to go. Only Coldhart and Jamie are in the living room, cuddling on the couch. I walk into the dining room where Tracy and Goth are sitting at the table, talking animatedly.

"You guys know where Peep is?" I ask, smiling at the boys. Tracy smirks and Goth looks up at me.

"He's in his bathroom, and he's been showering for like, an hour." He laughs, looking back to Tracy.

I nod, turning back around to walk towards the stairs. As I go up Jamie yells up at me to "be safe", earning a scoff.

I knock at Peep's door. From his bathroom I hear him yell "come in!". Pushing open the door I walk into the dimly lit room. His shower shuts off and I hear the curtain open.

"I'll wait on your bed!" I shout, sitting down.

My eyes run around his room, it's fairly simple, fairly messy. The walls are plastered with posters and concert memorabilia. There's a fancy pink bong on his bedside table with a half smoked bowl and a pretty green grinder next to it.

His black sheet doesn't match the purple comforter, which is half off the bed, and the pillow cases are all different colors.

In the left corner of the room, next to the beside table and near the bathroom, a lamp is covered with a red silky scarf, the only source of light in the room besides the large window to the right. The blinds are closed completely, and only small rays peek through.

It all seems very... him. I find it almost romantic.

He won't mind if I finish that bowl if I pack him a new one right? I look at the ounce bags of weed half empty and haphazardly thrown around, he definitely won't mind. I snap the bowl in one hit and start to grind more.

The bathroom door opens and Peep steps out as I finish packing the bowl. He's wearing black jeans and a pink oversized sweatshirt. His blond hair is sopping wet and hanging in his eyes. He gives me a goofy smile that gives me butterflies.

"Ooo, gimme some of that." He says, noticing the fresh bowl.

I take a hit before handing it to him. When we snap the bowl he passes it back to me, asking to pack another. He sits down on his bed next to me and pulls on his socks then his shoes while I pack. I sneak glances and watch his tongue stick out as he pulls on his left shoe, a grin sneaking onto my face. We finish smoking and he sets the bong back on the bedside table.

"Ready?" I ask fluffing up my hair.

"Yes ma'am!" He chirps.

"Lets go then!" I hop up and walk out, hearing him behind me. We make it down the stairs and almost out the door before anyone notices us.

"Hey!" Tracy yells. I groan, turning back inside. "What are you two doing?"

Wicca and Coldhart slide in next to him, bright grins on their faces.

"OoooOOooO" they all murmur.

"We're just getting Chick-fil-A" I explain, only a little annoyed. As if to completely disprove my point, Peep speaks up.

"Yeah, only Chick-fil-A!" He beams, leaning down and kissing my brown hair. I blush and throw my head back frustratedly. The boys all cheer as I grab his hand and pull him outside.

We climb into my car and as I connect the aux he reaches into his pocket, pulling out a box of cigarettes and lighting one up. I put on a mix of his music and start the car.

"Gimme some." I demand, he puts it to my lips gingerly. I whisper a thank you as I blow out and press the gas.

The whole way to Chick-fil-A, one hand grips my thigh as the other feeds me the cigarette. We don't make a sound besides singing along, but it doesn't feel awkward. I relax into his energy and let it wash over me. Theres something about him thats even stronger in person than in his music. As we pull up, I ask,

"Drive through or inside?"

"Drive through!" He says quickly and I turn into it. "I have a spliff and we should park somewhere to eat and smoke."

"Ooo, very romantic!" I laugh, looking over to see him smiling happily.
