"I'm not doing this," Annabeth muttered.

Thalia slipped her friend on the back. "She's a couples therapist."

"Aphrodite Beauregard might have a degree in psychology, but I am working on my English minor," Annabeth said. "I have more important things than reconciling with some Seaweed Brain possessed by Satan."

"I thought you said he was working for Satan," Thalia said.

Annabeth shrugged. "Same difference. I'll see you later, Thals."

"You know, the Book of Job is closer to the truth."

Annabeth looked up from her laptop to see Percy sitting across from her. She was in the library and was in the middle of working in her thesis. "Will you just leave me alone?" Annabeth asked. "I'm nearly finished with the rough draft of my thesis."

"I wanted to apologize," Percy said.

Annabeth snorted. "There is no apology I could accept after your betrayal."

Percy's face crumpled. He looked like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. "Annabeth, I was born and raised to do this."

"That's the lamest excuse I have ever heard," Annabeth said, standing up.

She shoved her laptop into her backpack. "Leave me alone, Perseus Jackson, or I'll get s restraining order on you."

Annabeth was unbothered by Percy for the next three days. She worked on her thesis and set up a meeting for next week with Dr. Chiron. She was feeling very good about herself when she found a letter addressed to her in the mailbox. She tore it open, not even waiting to get to her dorm room.

Her heart pounded as she scanned through the letter. It was written in the same untidy scrawl and blue ink as the previous one:

Dear Annabeth,

I understand why you are upset with me. You have every right to be. I betrayed you and for that I am deeply sorry. I know that I hurt you and I wanted to offer you a choice: I can either leave you alone for the rest of your days or show you part of my world.

Your Seaweed Brain,
Percy

Heart pounding, Annabeth shoved the letter in her jeans pocket and rushed out of the dormitory building. She cut through sculpture garden and nearly ran into a couple who were making out.

After a hasty apology to Grover and Juniper, Annabeth sped off. It was a cold day and the sky was clear, but the walk had warmed Annabeth up. She walked into the lobby of Percy's dormitory building and used the stairs, as Percy lived on the second floor. She knocked on his door.

It opened quickly. Percy's room was decorated like the sea with blue walls, fake sea anemones, and posters about marine biology. In his room, Annabeth felt as paralyzed as a fish stung by an electric eel.

"Is it alright if I close the door so our conversation is private?" Percy asked.

Annabeth nodded and the door closed. Percy turned towards her and their gazes met. "If you don't ever want to see or talk to me again," Percy began.

Annabeth cut him off with a judo flip and then helped him back up and pulled him into a kiss. "Show me part of your world. Seduce me with that Satan knowledge."

"Your demon is at your service," Percy joked. "I'll take you there this weekend."
