A month before Jaebeom and Jinyoung graduated, Jaebeom started to act like his old self.
The self Jinyoung had fallen in love with.
Jaebeom would joke around with him and Jinyoung would he happy.
Time went by too fast for Jinyoung.
They both had the time of their lives the last month.
Then, graduation came.
Jinyoung was happy to finally graduate high school and finally get away from the people that he disliked.
He started fresh, deleting people's numbers and unfollowing people who only talked to him because they needed something from him.
That summer he took classes for his degree.
He wanted to be a music teacher.
He wanted to sing and teacher others as well.
Jinyoung met people who became good friends with him.
Then started the insecurities.
Jinyoung was about to start his freshman year of college.
Without Jaebeom.
Jaebeom has chosen another school to go to and Jinyoung was happy for him.
But he was also insecure about if he would make actual friends and how he would survive since it was his first time to be separated by Jaebeom.
Jaebeom and him have gone to every school together after all.
Jinyoung ended up messaging Jaebeom about his insecurities.
"You'll be fine," Jaebeom had told him.
Jinyoung sighed, but knew that Jaebeom was right.
He started college.
Somehow, he ended up with a huge group of friends.
He spent every second of every school day with them, hanging out also out of school.
Jinyoung finally felt happy.
Happy he finally found the people who would listen to him and loved him.
Who knew and accepted all of him.
—————————"I'm tired," Jinyoung told one of his older sisters.
"Im so sick and tired," he said.
"Why? What happened?" She asked.
"I'm so sick and tired of trying with him," he said, tearing up slightly.
His sister sighed.
"Look Jinyoung-ah, you are an amazing person. Anyone who you go out with would be lucky to have you," his sister told him. "You are handsome and you are worth loving," she said.
Jinyoung let out a sob, hugging his sister. "Thank you," he said in between his sobs.
His sister smiled softly. "I love you Jinyoung-ah, remember that," she said and held the younger as he cried in her arms.
———————————Would you like to go with me to my cousins wedding since I don't have a best friend anymore? Jinyoung messaged one of his friends.
What happened about your best friend? His friend replied.
Jinyoung told him everything.
It sounds like a toxic relationship instead of a friendship.
Jinyoung thought about it for a moment.
No hugging, Jaebeom didn't like it.
He wouldn't let him touch him unless he allowed him sometimes.
He cared, while Jaebeom probably didn't.
He had to apologize when he didn't need to.
All these fifteen years, gone to waste.
Maybe it was, Jinyoung thought.
And with that thought, he went through his phone and deleted everything he had of Jaebeom.
"I should've done this sooner..." Jinyoung said sadly.
One last message to Jaebeom. It was his birthday after all. One last time.
Happy birthday
After that, he deleted Jaebeom's number.
And Jinyoung felt relief.
