"Hail to the Queen! Mshazi ka Nozishada kamaqhoboza. Mahlobo. Majiya. Your feet shall never come in contact with the dust of the soil as long as we're alive. We'd lie down and form a way for you to walk on until you reach your destination. We're yours, we live to serve you"

He groaned and bowed his head, so did everyone else. The hand woods were in flames, bringing enough light as possible.

The Queen remained standing. I could literally feel everyone's fear weigh me down on my shoulders. She wailed so loud as though someone had died.
Me: This isn't good.
Ngxabo: Remain where you are.
The soldiers pinned me down as I tried to move.
Me: She's gonna kill someone!
Ngxabo: He who wrongs the  royal house pays, in a most psinful way.
She pointed at our direction. My heart beat out of my chest. No she can't kill me, not now.
Me: I didn't do anything.
I said to Ngxabo with tears forming in my eyes.
Ngxabo: I did.

He shoved his spear on the first soldier's stomach and then the second one.
Ngxabo: Run! Never look back!
I screamed.
Me: What are you doing!

He slapped me.
Ngxabo: I said run Khaliphi! Run!

I untied the rope on my feet and half ran to the door.
Me: Come with me at least.
Ngxabo: They gonna enter this room in no time. They will kill everyone they find in here. Do you want to die?

I shook my head sobbing. He pointed me out. I ran. I didn't know where I was going but I ran.

"She took the left wing! Close the left wing exit!"

My tears and fear went straight to my knees. My body failed me. I couldn't run any faster.
Me: Ma ngisize! (Mom help me!) Ma!
I saw a bit of light penetrating through tiny windows.

I used my last energy to run until I was fully out. I could feel big boots thumping behind me. I saw the sun rays as I approached the exit.

I couldn't run anymore. My knees got weak, they had had it with running. He jumped on me and we both fell on the ground. I cried for Ma.

"The sun!"
Someone shouted.

He removed his hands from me as though he was burning. He shielded  his eyes with hands from the sunshine and then vanished.

"Nomonde! Monde?"

I jumped when I felt a cold object pressing against my cheek. I was on the floor, my kitchen floor. There was a broken mug not so far from me. I looked up at Ndalo who had her one hand on her hip and the other holding a glass of juice.
Me: Give me a hand.
Ndalo: Explain to me why are you on the floor first.
Me: Ndalo give me a hand.
She sighed and reached out. I got up.
Me: Thank you. What time is it?
Ndalo: 6am.
Me: When did the sun come out?
She raised her left eyebrow. I hate it when she does that.
Ndalo: A few minutes ago. Now explain why were you on the floor?
Me: I was drinking last night. Alcohol must've gotten the best of me. Let me go shower.
Ndalo: Be quick. I have an eight-fifteen meeting with my paint suppliers.
Me: Please make me coffee.
Ndalo: I must get paid for that. We'll talk about your alcohol problem later. This isn't normal.

I closed the bathroom door and leaned against it. Am I going crazy? I can't be going crazy. I have just found my dream job in my dream city I am living my dream life. These dreams, I don't know if I could call them that. They started 2 weeks ago. On my birthday to be precise, they are consistent, its like a series, where it ends today its where it'll start from tomorrow. They feel more than just a dream. I do not even wake up to pee at night anymore. I pass out  every where in this place, I've woken up in a balcony once not remembering when I slept or how.

How do I tell anyone about this without sounding crazy?
