The market bustled with people. Sounds and lights flashing everywhere. It was dizzying now that Kuro's head was clear. He wasn't just reacting on cat like instincts anymore. He was complete. Everything rushing around him as he clung to the boy's shoulder. It was a lot to take in now that the fog was gone. So many different things at once. How tiring. Watching the crowd bustle past the boy, he lowered himself down, ears wiggling as sharp eyes glance around. Something felt odd-

"Mahiru!"

The boy halted, turning towards two other boys. So that was his name? Mahiru. It had a nice ring to it, something simple yet delicate. Kuro kind of liked it. Drowning out the conversation, Kuro allowed Mahiru to dangle him in front of the boys. They looked confused about what the boy was rambling about. They were noisy and all Kuro wanted to do was sleep. The bickering continued, even as they wandered down the streets. Something about a Sakuya flew by, yet Kuro remained quiet, minding his own business and focusing on his own little game. How many green things can he pick out? One...two, three, four...time went by, the counting growing meaningless as he closed his eyes. Ear flicking, that strange sense of dread filled him again, and clearly Mahiru felt it as well. Looking up, a suddenly very loud male dressed in odd clothes stood before them. The guy was loud, rambling about a magic show. The pink haired male reached to grab one of Mahiru's friends, pulling him close. The manic eyes of this guy had his fur bristling.

This guy was a vampire.

"Now tell me my lovely crowd! Why did I pick this lovely volunteer for my magic trick~? Was it one, because he ignored me? Two, because he was rude? Or three, because I'm very, very hungry?" The manic voice sneered, moving to tear into Mahiru's friend's throat. The crowd erupted into terrified screams, each sound pounding into his head. Everything was chaotic, people ran, yet Mahiru stayed. He stayed and stood strong. He could hear him shout, proclaiming and wailing for the vampire to let him go. Red eyes locked onto Kuro. Sharp and precise as the vampire cackled relentlessly.

"Oh how Tsutsu would be happy that I found Sloth~ Just stay there blood bag, you'll be my next meal," the eyes zero in on Mahiru, cold and menacing. Kuro couldn't stand this, the sudden desire to kill flashing through his body. It was familiar, cold, and he hated it. Changing forms, he quickly kicked the vampire through a shop's window. He didn't care about the startled expression from Mahiru, instead, he quickly dragged the boy away from the scene. He couldn't let him get hurt. Not today. Not ever. The feelings frustrated him. He din't enjoy this one bit. Grunting as the boy pulled back, he turned, huffing at the cold glare from the boy. So stubborn...

"We can't just leave my friends back there!" Mahiru shouted, trying to pull Kuro back towards the area. He could here the strange Subclass looking for him. Pulling away from Mahiru, he fixed him with a equally cold stare.

"We can't go back," He stated flatly, "I'm weak, I haven't even had a drop of blood for nearly 100 years. I'm more of a cat than I am a vampire."

He could see the anger in Mahiru's eyes, the boy scowling as he turned his back to him, "Fine, stay here, I don't care, but I'm going to save my friends."

Crimson eyes watch Mahiru turn and run away. Run back into the chaos. His heart fluttered with mixed feelings. His mind cluttered with poisonous thoughts, mingling into his very existence. Things were happening far to quickly. Things he didn't want to happen. His mind clicked into gear, forcing his body to react. He could sense it. The danger this kid was in. Lights flashed before his eyes, and before he could know it, the smell of blood hung empty on the air. It took him a minute to register the searing pain in his chest. The quickened beating of his heart that kept his body mobile. Even if his heart was injured, he'd continue his endless life of pointless longing. His heart was a lie-

"Oh there you are Sloth~ I thought the cat ran away! How thoughtful of you to return," Red eyes glared at him, sinking into his soul. His thoughts raced, eyes tracing over Mahiru. The boy was uninjured, yet terror and worry marked his face in a deep scowl, "Kuro- are you ok!?"

"I'm fine, now run, even though I'm weak I'll try and handle this freak," He hissed. Eyes focusing back on the strange Subclass, Kuro waited for the sound of footsteps. Nothing. Instead a arm thrust into his face, shoving itself into his mouth. Canines met skin, and the sudden warmth and sweet taste of blood filled his mouth. It reminded him of fresh cinnamon buns. Warm, sweet, yet a small spice to it that added power. The power that surged through his body, forming a chain that connected him to Mahiru. He could feel it all return, the familiar surge of raw energy that coated his hand in black claws. Eyes zero in on the started pink haired creep, the resolve to protect Mahiru's friend's filling his mind, drowning out everything else with in him.

"I can't believe you made a contract with that useless blood bag- The oldest of the Servamps with something so pathetic-" The Subclass screeched, pointing an accusing finger at Kuro. That seemed to tick him off. Bringing him over the edge. He could feel his feet push him off the ground, propelling him towards the male. The rip of flesh, the feel of the blood spraying into his face, it was exotic. The feeling all to welcoming. It unleashed something wild in his soul. The beast he wanted to keep locked away flickering into life. The rush of his instincts faltered, pooling his mind like a endless wave of cold rushing water. He felt like he was drowning. His teeth coming close to the other vampire's neck. A sharp tug to his neck, a sting from the chain pulling harshly in his skin, and the warm trickle of blood that followed it. The voice was muffled, drowned in static until another, slightly harsher tug could be felt.

"Don't kill him!" The voice broke through. Kuro blinked, his senses breaking out of the water, screaming at him, pleading him to hide. The subclass struggled, poofing into a strange little doll. Mahiru picked it up, shaking it a little in confusion, "That's odd, why did he change into a doll? He he still alive?"

"Of course I'm still alive you stupid, stupid human," a tiny voice came from the thing, startling Mahiru as he threw it to the ground, "if you wouldn't have signed a contract with that lazy, poor excuse of a heartless Servamp, you'd be dead!"

"Servamp...?" Brown eyes glanced at Kuro, yet Kuro couldn't look back at him. The word heartless hung heavy on him. It ate him alive His mind recoiled and flailed under it, tossing it around like it was some useless chunk of meat. His eyes snap towards the doll, a single black claw stabbing through it's hat as he lifted it up, shaking it in the air with a cold intent of wanting to tear it apart.

"Don't shake me you lazy asshole, I get sick easily. As for the human, yes, Servamp. Vampires that sign blood contracts with humans. You useless beings have to name them and give them something, and the last draw is that they drink your blood. After that, they become your mindless slave, commanded by pointless emotions," the doll cackled, Mahiru's eyes flicking back towards Kuro.

"Why didn't you tell me this?"

"I didn't want a contract...but now there's no point, I am your's, command me to protect and kill, it doesn't matter anymore," Kuro sighed looking down slightly. This was wrong. Everything was wrong. He didn't want to mess up this kid's life. He was just a boy. A boy whose life was now tainted. Mahiru stared at him, concern in his eyes.

"You have a choice in this as well, I may be...uh, your master now, but you have a saying in things as well! We'll work together, as a team!" He declared, and Kuro couldn't care less. He never had a choice, a option in what any of his previous Eve's wanted. What made this boy any different? He'll just use his power to get what he wanted anyways. It's always the same. Feeling his mood drop, Kuro blinked as Mahiru nudged him, "We should probably head home now...my friend's are safe...I'm not even sure where they went, and we don't want to be caught up in the police when they arrive."

Home...that's right. He was Mahiru's Servamp now, he had a home, "So bothersome..."
