Quite a few days flew by. Kuro being allowed to rest. A few more fevers wrecked havoc on his body. Leaving him rather exhausted as he watched Mahiru clean. He would help, but he really didn't want to. Sprawling out a little, he reached for a DS that he found. The games on it entertained him, leaving his mind to wander with the cute little animals that he was supposed to catch in balls. It was fascinating. Looking up at the click of the vacuum, he stared at Mahiru. His Eve had been quiet since they left Misono's mansion. The gentle care he placed into him was nice. It helped sooth him into a nice nap. Yet, he definitely felt better now. Still tired, but not sickly. Watching the boy put the vacuum away, he slowly sits up, letting Mahiru sit next to him. The same quietness settled between them. Drowning him in unease. Did he upset him more than he thought he did? Blinking a little in shock, he glanced at Mahiru at the feel of someone petting his fur. Letting Mahiru scoop him up, he flopped against his chest, relaxing to the gentle touch of his fingers. He adored it, going as far as to purr, the little cat showing his belly, adoring the pats and scritches he received. Mahiru's giggle warmed him with a weird feeling he wasn't expecting. A light and airy tingle that he craved.
"I didn't know that you enjoyed belly rubs," Mahiru laughed, tickling Kuro, watching the cat flail in shock. The odd noise that the black cat had both boys rather stunned. Squirming around, Kuro flailed slightly, mewling in protest and giggles as Mahiru tickled his belly. The cat was very ticklish, squirming around to attempt escaping his captor. Mahiru finally left him alone, his face slightly flushed. Kuro stared at him, his tail twitching from side to side. It was needless to say that Kuro was slightly embarrassed. He kept his gaze away from his Eve's, purring softly as he felt him gently pet his ears. The affection caused him to melt into a small kitty puddle. He was very content with it, and never realized Mahiru carrying him out of the apartment. They needed food anyways. Ears twitching, his eyes snap open, gazing around the city. He was slightly shocked, but shook it off. Crawling onto Mahiru's shoulder, he stayed on him all through out the day. School and everything. His friends were a bit weird, including the green haired boy who kept a close eye on him. The boy even offered to walk him home. Huffing softly, Kuro ketp his eye on this male. Something felt weird about him. Almost as if he wasn't full human. Yet if he was a Subclass, than how in the world was he giving off Alpha like waves?
"So Mahiru, you're keeping the cat?" The boy spoke up, catching both of their attention. Kuro drowned them out, rather annoyed with how happy his Eve sounded. He didn't allow it to anger him though. Mahiru had every right to have friends, Alpha or not. Listening to them chat, his ears flick a little at a question that sent chills down his spine. The boy clearly sensed something before he did, his eyes cold and cutting into his soul as he spoke with a rather monotone voice, "Do you believe in vampires?"
"I- I uhm...where's that coming from? Why would I believe in vampires?" His Eve giggled nervously, his eyes wide as the boy grabbed him by his wrist. The boy dragged him down a alley way. Kuro clung to Mahiru's shoulder, eyes round as he looked around in alarm. He could feel the presence of someone else. Someone who felt familiar. Glancing at the boy, he hissed at him in warning. The boy came to a halt, turning towards Mahiru with a small sneer.
"I don't like it when people lie to me," He snaps, his voice rather cold. Kuro looked at Mahiru in alarm, moving to try and lunge at the boy with a snarl. The tug in his mind pulled him to a halt however, strange strings curling around him, lifting him into the air. Red eyes widen in alarm, these strings held Mahiru as well. Squirming around, he glared at the boy, ears flicking at the panicked voice of his Eve, "I don't know what you mean, Sakuya- Why are you doing this to me?"
"You lied to me! That cat you have, that you cling to, he's not a normal cat! And I know that you know this!" Sakuya laughs, clawing at a piece of glass. Kuro's stomach churned, he took note of how pale Mahiru had gotten. How terrified he looked. The feeling in him tugging at him to keep Mahiru safe. Yet the resolve to keep someone safe threw him off guard. He didn't know what to do. Trembling slightly, he reached a paw out to Mahiru, wanting to calm him down. He didn't want to allow him to go down that road. Pawing at his hand, he struggled to find his voice, he couldn't allow Mahiru to feel like this, "Mahiru, that boy is a Subclass."
"I don't care! He's still my friend!" He snapped, startling the cat. Kuro squirmed a little, meowing in protest as Mahiru rambled out his emotions, the boy unfocused as he laughed dryly, "I was hoping to allow you to meet Misono. You'd like him, he's a funny guy!"
"Why!? I'm a Subclass, a vampire! Why would you even want me to be your friend!?" Sakuya screamed, clutching at his chest. A crazed look flickered in the boy's eyes, the male moving to draw out something that alarmed Kuro. The sudden feel of falling scared him, his paws landing harshly on the ground. Looking up, he just about purred. Lust stood over him, gently holding Mahiru in his arms. A bright purple chain connected him to a fuming Misono. With a single flick of his wrist, Misono summoned that chair, sitting down with a enraged gleam in his eyes. Lust gently set Mahiru down, a raw gleam of energy emitting from his hand, forming into that of a scythe. Kuro couldn't hear what happened. He didn't remember turning into his human form. He could feel Mahiru's panic. His alarm, all of it drowning him whole. He didn't like it. The pain it gnawed into him. The negative emotions threatened to swallow him whole. The sharp scent of blood filled the air, his gaze travelling towards Misono, watching the boy collapse in shock. Sudden resolve hit him. He didn't hear anything anymore. Looking towards Mahiru, he squeaked in alarm. Mahiru swung his lead at Sakuya, aiming to hurt him. He wanted to kill him. Shaking his head, he tried to reach out to him, reaching a hand out to his Eve in a desperate attempt to put him to a halt. He needed to stop him before he took it to far, "Mahiru, don't. You don't know what your resolve is-"The final hit of Mahiru's weapon, the smell of Sakuya's blood. That's all it took for him to snap. He could feel the harsh tug on his mind. The cold feel of something crawling up his legs. He could hear the cackle of his demon. The feel of it's paws crawling up his spine. The taste of decay over powered him, shadows swirling around his body, grabbing at him and pulling him under. He couldn't fight against it. He couldn't pull himself out. The mockery in the thing's voice angered him. A anger that bittered his tongue. Blinking open his eyes, he looked at the cat, glaring at the smirking creature before his world turned black.
"Ḥ̴̢̭̕ę̵͇̝̞̱̠̠̫͌̀̑̏l̵̃́̈́̈́͑͆͋͌̚͝ͅp̵͕͕̣̳̩͓̗̮̼̆̀̍̋͊͘,̴̘͍͉̋̓́̽̓̈̋̕ ̷̨͕̰͙̻͈̱͓͗I̷̧̩̤̱̋'̸̪̱͔͉͇̝̭̳͊̎͊m̵̗͉̳̅̂͌͂̎͂̂̓̃͝ ̷̨̼̤̘̟̹͑̈́͑̎͘d̶̡̛̛̯̥̜̭͇̪͚̠̓͑̐̂́͠ŗ̸̡͓̎̋̓̋ͅò̶̭w̷̢̨̗͇̳̋̊͋͑̈́̒̌̌ͅn̷̹͖͇̤͇̏̃̓̌ͅì̴̢̧̢̦͕́̕n̶̨̪̪͆́ͅģ̸̙̭̫̳͓͔̂̒̓͌-"The taste of Mahiru's blood sent him teetering into a world that he couldn't escape from. Wafting dangerous energy over him. He could feel the harsh pulse of power rip through his body. Ripping itself out of his back. He could feel his skin split open. He could no longer see. No longer feel. He didn't know what to do. The taste of decay and blood hung heavily in his jaws, his body trying to choke up thick saliva. He could feel the shadows of the demon surge over him. Enveloping him in ice. Holding him in a darkness that threatened to swallow everything. He could hear Lust's frightened cry. His pleas to pull it back. The feel of the demon threatening to swallow him whole taunted him. Mahiru- where was his Eve? Was this thing eating him whole as well. He couldn't reach out. He couldn't find his Eve.
Where was his Eve-?
