"Come on ScrappyBear!"
Alejandro yelled as they both were back on the ship.
"Take us to the Land of Acacia!"
ScrappyBear barked back with surety as he made way for an opening that would undoubtedly provide shelter from the cold rain drops . . .
Rain drops that could not seep through the bright orange rain coat with the pirate ship in its glass soda bottle dryly tucked away.
Alejandro could see the harbor that his faithful helms man was steering towards.
Before Alejandro could shout any kind of praise to ScrappyBear for having spotted a great landing spot, Alejandro was knocked off his sea legs!
"What was that?" Alejandro wondered.
Before he could regain his sea legs the ship was once again pounded upon by something that clearly meant to harm his ship. He heard the keel creak beneath him.
Alejandro knew that he had to defend his ship or he and ScrappyBear would find themselves down below in Davy Jones' Locker.
"ScrappyBear, you keep aiming for that harbor!" Alejandro shouted as the large pelting raindrops walloped on his face.
"I'm going to make sure we get to the Land of Acacia in one piece." Alejandro said with great resolve as the stirrings of fear swam in his chest.
Before they were attacked again Alejandro jumped onto his feet to catch a better glimpse of what he and ScrappyBear were up against.
To Alejandro's astonishment he saw the oddest sea monster that no Mariner had ever talked about! It was as huge as a blue whale with scaly like skin. And this sea creature was swimmung its way for ScrappyBear and Alejandro once again, but this time Alejandro was ready . . .
. . . thunder echoed loudly above the young lad as he fitted the bow strings to its notch . . .
. . . lightening flashed brightly for a split second as he let the arrow soar true to its mark!
But!?!
The arrow bounced off its scaly skin and went sliding into the Mediterranean Sea!
"No!" Yelled Alejandro.
As his yell vanished into the roar of thunder the sea monster once again pelted the ship. Buckling both ScrappyBear and Alejandro to the deck.
The helm began spinning out of control. Lightening brightened the sky as Alejandro landed on his wrist and ScrappyBear went sliding off a few feet away.
"ScrappyBear!" Shouted Alejandro with concern for his faithful four legged as thunder clapped some distance away.
"I will not let this creature beat us!" Alejandro said with a fixed look of determination in his eyes.
Alejandro ran into his private room below deck and raced to the wall above his bed and took down the biggest bow he owned.
It was a crossbow made of iron that weighed a good eight pounds and its arrows were just as heavy.
Seconds later Alejandro appeared on the deck with the crossbow already drawn and loaded with the arrow tip aimed and ready to be fired!
Rain continuously splashed both Alejandro and ScrappyBear. With a deafening roar from the agitated sea Alejandro ran to the left of his ship, the port side, ready to guard ScrappyBear and himself.
The ship bobbed for what seemed an eternity as ScrappyBear and Alejandro waited for the ruthless sea monster to appear.
ScrappyBear began to bark above the pelting rain as he caught first glimpse of the sea creature. Alejandro ran to ScrappyBear to the starboard side of his ship where he caught sight of the creature stealthily gliding toward them.
Alejandro took aim at what he thought to be the monster's vulnerable side. He had already tried to shoot through the monster's scaly skin and that had proved useless. Instead Alejandro decided he would shoot at its belly as it rolled beneath the roiling waves to once again attack the ship.
As ScrappyBear barked encouragement, Alejandro let loose his hefty arrow and this time the arrow was true to its mark . . .
but not before his ship took one last beating! The events that carried out happened quite suddenly . . .
The odd sea creature sank to the briny deep and ScrappyBear went yelping into the waves of the sea as lightening zigzagged across the blackened rain streaked sky.
"ScrappyBear!" Cried Alejandro. "Hold on, I'm getting the buoy!"
Alejandro raced to the side of the ship that was already up in the air, he threw the large floating donut out into the spot where Alejandro saw ScrappyBear fall over board . . .
. . . but ScrappyBear was not there to receive it.
