It began, as so many stories do, with a typical day. Average breakfast, normal work day, typical evening streaming Minecraft with George and Sapnap... and then, before going to bed, Dream decided to check his email. An ordinary decision, but nonetheless one which would change his life forever.

As he scrolled past the constant stream of marketing spams and scams on his phone, Dream came across an email which stood out to him. It may have just been another spam email, and with a subject line of "Clay, We Have An Opportunity For You!" it almost certainly was. However, for some unfathomable reason which we can only assume must have been fate, he clicked on it.

Clay, We Have An Opportunity For You!

Hello, Clay, and congratulations! We here at Sultix Industries are excited to announce that you've been selected to participate in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! We've created a program aimed at developing a new, immersive type of virtual reality. This program, dubbed the New Reality project, brings an entirely new twist to VR gaming. This technology could become the very future of gaming, and we're in need of participants to test it out. You were selected out of many possible candidates as best suited for our program. This program is an all-expenses-paid trip to a week long immersive experience in gaming, for you and one friend or family member. For more information on our program, feel free to visit our website:

Below was a link to the company's site, which Dream stared at suspiciously for a second before clicking. It took him to a page which seemed legitimate, a small start-up company working on various new VR technologies. They'd gotten a small amount of media attention for their recent innovations in tactile sensory for VR, but they were hinting at something even bigger coming soon: the New Reality project. He yawned as he continued reading about Sultix Industries, his initial skepticism turning slowly into excitement as he thought of how cool it would be to do this. And he could bring a friend... I could go with George! Dream yawned again. Realizing it was late, he decided to talk to George about it tomorrow. He put his phone on the bedside table, rolled over, and fell asleep.

-----

The next morning, George awoke to a text from Dream: "Hey Georgie, wanna go on a gaming trip with me?" Prompting Dream to explain the cryptic message did not decrease his confusion; if anything, it only deepened it. So there's some... company or something, creating this new VR program thing? And they for some reason picked Dream out of the billions of people in the world to test it? It seemed a little sketchy to him, to say the least. Still, he couldn't ignore the many articles they found online about the company. It was apparently a small business, based overseas, which had created some incredible, albeit not mainstream, innovations in VR. He had to admit, it did sound sort of exciting. After much convincing, he finally agreed to go with Dream.

A few weeks of back-and-forth communications later, their trip was planned. They would leave on July 9th, where a flight would take them each to the small airport near the company's headquarters. There, they'd meet each other and take a bus to the Sultix Building, where the program would take place. And then... who knew?

The day finally arrived. The flight seemed to take forever. George couldn't stop thinking about how excited he was to meet up with Dream. The whole situation seemed too surreal to be true. And many miles away, on a flight of his own, Dream was thinking the same.

-----

"GEORGIE!"

"Dream!"

As soon as his flight landed, Dream had spotted George across the terminal. He ran at full speed toward his friend, not caring that people were staring. He practically launched himself at George. The hug Dream tackled him in might've strangled him, but George couldn't care less. They were both at a loss for words at finally meeting; a hug seemed the only way to properly convey their emotions.

After a few seconds of reveling in each other's company, the two broke apart. "So..." said George. "What now?"

Dream grinned. "Now, we do what we've always done. We game."
