Ronan was shaken gently. He stirred around and finally opened his eyes. His aunt was staring back at him.

"Hey bud. You sleep well?" Jennifer said, petting her nephews head. He hugged her tightly.

"When can we leave?" Is all he asked. She held him close.

"Tonight. I know you want to tell your mom. I explained everything to her already. She doesnt want you to go but she understands." Jennifer said. Ronan nodded.

"Let's go. I want to spend some time with her before I have to leave her." He slowly got up from the bed. They both left the office, seeing that the sun was setting.

"I knew you had a tough day and you needed sleep. Enjoy it while you can." She said. Ronan nodded. Lenny waved at both of them as they left the bar. The drive to the house felt long.

Ronan stared at the house. He felt numb. No emotion at all. Jennifer placed her hand on his shoulder.

"We got to go in and get you packing. Your mom told the school you were dropping out and gave me your shot records for the new school you will be at. Were gonna break a lot of laws but that's what we have to do." Jennifer explained. Ronan got out of the car, not saying a word and started walking towards the house. Jennifer followed him and opened the door.

"Jenny? Are you back?" A soft voice rang out. Ronan closed his eyes and clenched his fist. Taking a deep breath and holding back the tears, he walked in where he heard the voice. He seen his mother sitting at the counter with a cup of coffee in her hand. He stared at the woman.

"Mom." She jumped and turned to see her son standing there. Alice shook her head and ran to her son. They both embraced each other as Alice wailed in his chest. Ronan petted his mom's hair, trying to calm her down.

"Baby I'm so sorry! I wish there was something I could've done." She begged. He shook his head.

"Its not your fault mom. Accidents happen." He reassured, thinking it was about the car accident.

"I'm not talking about that, raven." She said. Ronan held her tighter.

"No one can help me mom. I have to do this protect you. To protect Freya. I cant let someone else die. I couldn't save dad, but I can save you." He said pulling her face to look at him. The red shot eyes and bags underneath them stood out on her pale skin. He had never seen his mother in this much pain.

"Jennifer and I agreed that you could call at least once a week. I have to lie to everyone and tell them you ran away. They've already asked about where you been."

"I was clearing my thoughts. I'm done having everyone in pain because of me, mom."

"I know sweetie. But none of this is your fault."

"It is!" He said, staring that his mother, pain filled in his eyes. "I cant protect any of you. Not yet. When I come back, I will make sure that this ends."  Alice caressed her son's cheek.

"I know you will. And I know Jennifer will take care of you. She did me for years." She held back the tears pushing at the edge of her eyes and hugged her son tightly. He hugged her back just as tight.

"I packed your clothes and some other things kid. Are you ready?" Jennifer asked with bags. Ronan looked at her.

"Just one more moment please." She nodded and headed out to the car with his stuff.

"Mom, I will have to get a new phone. I'm sure that aunt Jen will be okay with that but you are the only one to have that number. When we get to where were going, I will let you know. I love you so much. Let Freya come back in that way you won't have to be alone. Tell her I love her as well." Ronan said, grabbing her shoulders gently.
