Chapter 3

Anne's POV
I contemplated going to mom,I had no place to stay yet so guess who I had to go to not like it's a bad thing. I walked out of the airport,looked for a cab and gave the directions home. I took deep breaths kinda scared of what my mom's reaction might be to seeing me after I left abruptly.i have to admit I was being super selfish when I left,all I wanted was to prove everyone wrong,to prove a stupid point,I was stupid before but not anymore,I'm finally ready to start my life properly.

I made sure my phone was dead so no one can call me and I wouldn't call either, I'm pretty sure Kai is blowing up my phone with messages,fat chance I'm going back.
I've put up with him for a long time and I just can't stand him.

The cab came to a stop too soon,my stomach was in knots,I wanted to throw up,you know the feeling before something huge happens,I was super nervous. Calm down Anne,you can do this, they're your family,what's the worst that could happen? My subconscious is right, what's the worst?

I smiled at the cab driver who was looking at me funny,since I've been sitting still since he stopped,I gave him the money and got out,I tried calming my self down,I walked to the door, hesitating before ringing the bell. I heard shuffling inside.

"One second!" I heard my mom's voice. Guilt washed over me as I thought of how I left. The door was open and I was staring into my mother's green eyes.

"Hi Mom" I said,wow that's the best thing I could say? Real smooth Anne.
"Anne?" My mom said almost unsurely.
"Yeah, it's me"
"Oh my goodness" She pulled me into a warm hug.
"My baby,I've missed you so much, don't you ever leave like that again,wait, you're not going to leave are you?"
" Mom,I'm sorry" I said with tears in my eyes " I was being selfish and immature and I'm just so sorry"

She gave me a smile," it's okay now,I've got you, don't cry baby" She pulled me inside the house,closing the door behind her.

    We sat down in the living room, while she kept staring at me like she still couldn't believe I was there,that was fair I guess.

   "Where have you been? I've been so worried plus that boy is it Kai called me asking where you are"
I cringed just hearing his name
" Well,you don't have to worry about him anymore, we're done" I said with a sigh.
" What happened?" She said already sensing something was off

" Nothing ma"
She gave me a pointed look "you'll tell me eventually,but for now I'm happy you're done with that despicable boy" she said her dislike for Kai evident.

" Go up to your room, I'll prepare dinner soon"
"I can help" I said trying to be useful.
" No,you need to rest,and your dad will soon be back, he'll be so happy,now go up"

   I walked up to my room,it was like I left it just more arranged,seems mom walked her magic in here,I dropped the bag I was holding on the bed,I laid down just staring at the ceiling,deep down I knew Kai will still try to find me,I can't believe he called my mom,he has never called her before,Jerk.

   I got up and went to take a shower,I got under the shower just letting the water wash away the fatigue and everything,time to be serious with my life.

" I love you Anne,"  Kai said, kissing me,he pulled me towards his room,I couldn't think straight just kept on soaking up his words,he loves me,was all I could think,he loves me no matter what everyone says,he laid me on the bed as he kissed me again, taking off his clothes...

   I got out of the shower,taking a towel and drying off my body. I ended up picking some of my old clothes, it's been just months so they're perfect or maybe a little big.

    I opened my phone,I opened new social media accounts,this time with my middle name Sara,after dinner I'll have to check for jobs. After surfing the internet for a while,I went downstairs. Mom was already done. Just in time the door opened revealing my dad, he looked so handsome,I smiled  walking towards him as soon as my dad saw me,he froze. We stood there just looking at each other. He finally broke the silence,"Anne"
"Dad" I said. I ran up to him hugging him with tears in my eyes,I missed him do much,he held me,then eventually pulled back.
"You promise not to ever pull a stunt like that again?"
"I promise dad"
"Then you're forgiven" he said with a smile.
I smiled wildly, pulling him to the dinning where my mom was standing smiling wildly. He went up to her and kissed her "you were 10 minutes late" she said with a pout, really mom? I thought laughing.
" You see,you told me you didn't want to see me" he said shrugging.
Mom's eyes narrowed as she pushed him away.
" No food for you" she said "Anne baby, your dad is not hungry, it's all ours" She said innocently.
  I looked at my dad who was glaring at both of us " okay,I agree he does look a little satisfied" I said sitting down. I opened my food, " smells delicious,anyone not eating must be really missing out" I said to infuriate dad more.
   " Fine,baby I'm sorry"  my dad said to her "I just needed to wrap up a few things at the office" he was giving her his best puppy dog eyes.
    I watched my mother's resolve crumble before my eyes,she sighed
"Fine,only this time"
My dad gave me a triumphant smirk before getting his food.
    " Where's Charlotte?" I asked,as I've not seen my younger sister since coming, it's hard not to notice her absence.

  "She went to a friend's house for a sleepover" mom said.
Of course Charlotte would,I hardly ever went for sleepovers at her age,I didn't like people so much then,I only ever went to Emma's house,that was one friend I kept in touch with a little when I left,which reminds me,I never told her I was back.

    Dinner went on,and was soon over,I  went to do the dishes as my mom came in saying I shouldn't,I just gave her a look and told her to go back to her "baby" She rolled her eyes at me but eventually left. When I was done I went to my room and and video called Emma.

"A freaking video call? Finally you piece of shit ignored me for so long I was soooooooo heartbroken" she said in an exaggerated tone as soon as it connected.
"Well, I'm fine thank you for asking " I said sarcastically.
" You're welcome,now you can bow to the goddess" she said smugly,of course,only Emma will manage to make herself look good out of this.
"Since you so graciously asked" I began " I wanted to tell you I'm back home".
As soon as the words left my mouth she left out an ear piercing squeal
"Are you serious? Finally,when are you gonna come see me?" She said.
" Soon?" I said half laughing
" You better before you incurr my wrath".
   We kept on talking about random things and I mentioned I'm looking for a job,and the life saver she told me about a few places she knew that were hiring,if only I could hug her from the phone. It was getting very late before we said our goodbyes.

   Before going to sleep I sent my CV to 3 places. At least I'm finally doing something.
