"Spirits! One more word out of you and I'll freeze you into the river!"||Personality||
Hotaru is definitely a fighter and warrior, she never takes no for an answer and she especially doesn't take any misogynistic man. Hotaru, although being a fighter, can be calm and collected, depending on the situation at hand. Hotaru is brave (dangerously so), passionate about the things she likes and the people she cares about, and kind- but only to people she cares about. If you hurt her or her friends, she will have no problem blood bending you into mercy.||Appearance||

Hotaru grew up alongside Sokka and Katara in the southern water tribe. Unlike everyone else, Hotaru's mother loved and cherished teaching Hotaru Water bending. So growing up, Hotaru spent most of her time training her bending with her mother- Katara even joining in a few times. Hotaru's father helped with Katara's and Sokka's father, Hakoda, with the soldiers. When the fire nation ships came to the southern tribe to look for water benders, her father ran to fight alongside Hakoda and the other soldiers, though he hid Sakura and Hotaru first. Hotaru's father was killed by a fire Bender in the attack. When all was said and done, they had a funeral for the many lost. After that, Sakura made Hotura train her bending much harder- as to protect herself from the fire nation- even teaching her blood bending as well as getting and using water from where ever you can (so like getting water from plants or air.) Hotaru mainly practiced her healing on Sokka- the many times he got hurt. Hotaru had been training the day that Sokka and Katara found Aang, and she had been very happy when they brought the air bender boy to the tribe. After everything with Zuko, she was given permission from her mother to travel with Aang-and so she did.
