Serial experiments

Prologue: The Storm.

 A flash of light. Boom! Crack!

 A thunder bolt surges from the sky.

"Daddy! Are we there yet? I'm scared..."

"Almost there son! We'll be there soon, this storm is crazy!"

He had never seen a thunderstorm of this size in his life. A huge cluster of clouds were looming over them and streaks of white were painting the sky. He needed to get out of here, asap!

"Daddy! What's that!"

"What do you see son? There's nothing that can be seen through this rain!"

George swiftly turned his head to see his son pointing at something on his left through the window. Confused he glanced to his left. He couldn't see anything. He felt a chill ran down his spine. "I can't see anything! What's on my left?" George was getting frantic. He was driving through the storm and his son was pointing at something that he couldn't see. 

"Ugh! What's going on with this weather? It's like the world is ending!" George was sure that this wasn't normal. There was no way that a storm of this magnitude would appear  out of the blue on what was just a bright and sunny day.

"Daddy look! It's saying something!"

"What are you saying son? I can't see any..."

Out of the corner of his eye, George saw it. It was in the sky looming over them like the storm. There was a weird, white aura surrounding it and first he mistook it for just a bolt of lightning.

"What the fuc..." Just as George muttered those words, he froze. Well everything froze. The whole world had stopped. Just as that "thing" opened its mouth and said something, time was stopped. Everything in the world had stopped moving. Like a machine out of motion, reality was frozen. 

"Oh! Here it comes!"

And with that, a dark shadow was cast onto the world. Enveloping everything in it's path. Like the ending of a movie, but there were no credits. Just a black screen. No claps and applause could be heard and certainly no "curtain call".

However, there is still something that could be heard breaking the silence.
