"What's that dear?" George asks, just by hearing his name, only to have Lorraine ignore him. She continued the story she was saying to Marty, Linda, and Darleen. "Your father," she looked at Darleen, "Mr. McFly, kissed me for the very first time on the dance floor... and that's when I realized I was going to spend the rest of my life with him." Marty and Linda shook their heads as Darleen smiled, the two parents did have a spark and the story was something right out of a John Hughes movie.

"I can't believe dad actually got up enough nerve to kiss you in public." Linda said. Darleen scoffed, why were their kids so unsupportive of their own parents relationship let alone how they met. "Well, I may have encouraged him a little...." Darleen smiled, a sparkle in Lorraines eye. "I'll bet you had to practically jump on his bones." Marty said as he got up and started to walk to his room. Darleen rolled her eyes, suppressing a gag at the innuendo. Darleen got up after him—going to follow Marty as she smiled at Lorraine.

Lorraine looks at George as she smiled demurely to herself, "Thinking back on it, I did."

——

As Marty and Darleen walked into the teenage boys room, Darleen quickly shut the door before speaking, "What's up with you man?" Marty raises a brow at her, "What do you uh—what do you mean?" The girl rolled her eyes before squinting her eyes and putting her hands in her short pockets.

"Oh, I'm Marty, I don't care about anything my parents have to say, I have a girlfriend uh euhuh." Marty pointed to himself, "Was that supposed to be an impression of me?" Darleen sighed loudly before answering, "No..... yes." Marty rolled his eyes before thinking of an answer, "It's just, with me not getting into battle of the bands, getting detention, and not getting to spend time with Jennifer for at least a few hours, AND missing her call.. this day is just shit." Darleen walked over to him.

She looked him in the eyes, the two were the same height so it wasn't really awkward. "You do still have me, and—it's not the end of the world either." she grabbed him by his shoulders, "Come on man, tell me that I'm the best person in the world." Marty smiled looking down. "You're the best person in the world."

Darleen smiled, "Andddd, tell me that I can make your day better just having you be in the presence of me." Marty laughed before grabbing Darleen by the shoulders, "Don't get ahead of yourself." The two laughed before going to do their own thing in the room, Marty listening to his walkman while Darleen read/skimmed through the comic books.

An envelope sat on Martys' desk, along with a tape and a picture of Jennifer. Darleen looks at it before pointing at it, "Marty—bro—dude!" She exclaimed as she threw her hair tie at him, he sat up quickly before realizing that nothing bad had happened. He took off his headphones, "What?" Darleen looked at the envelope, "What is this?" Marty got up before going over to look at what it was.

He looks at the envelope labeled 'R&G RECORDS, NEW TALENT DIVISION' before signing it. "It's just something dumb." He places the tape on the desk in the envelope. He goes to seal it before hesitating, Darleen looks over the top of the comic book. Marty decides to take the tape out and toss the envelope in the trash. He puts the tape back on the desk before going back to his bed and listening to his walkman.

The two sit in silence, the only sound coming from Martys' headphones. Darleen got up, a comic in hand. "Scoot." Was all she said resulting in Marty scooting closer to the wall. Martys' eyes started to closed before he finally passed out, his head falling on her arm. She looked down before smiling.

She laid down next to him, he was always the one to fall asleep first. Ever since middle school—Marty would always fall asleep first—having Darleen stay awake and have to do stuff quietly. And, over the years, she has Martys' sleeping face engraved in her mind. His eyes would be closed, his mouth would be slightly open, and his hair would fall slightly on his forehead.

Darleens' eyes started to close before she finally drifted off to sleep.

——

It read 12:30 on Martys' alarm clock, the two teens are fully clothed, shoes on and everything. Their sleeping positions had changed. Marty ended up having his leg draped over both of Darleens', Darleens' arm ended up draped over Martys' chest, and the two were facing each other.

Martys' cordless phone beeps making Marty stir before leaning up to answer it, all the while Darleens' arm moved from Martys' chest to his lower back. "Hello?" Marty says in a raspy tone. "You didn't fall asleep did you?" It was Doc! Marty almost jumps out of bed before remembering the other body in the bed.

"Uh, no—of course not." Marty replies as Darleen stirs—rubbing her eyes before sitting up. "Uh huh. Listen, I forgot my video camera. Could you stop by my place and pick it up on your way to the mall?" Doc says. Marty nods, "No problem Doc."

Marty hangs up before rubbing his temples, "Was it Doc?" Darleen asks and Marty nods. Darleen looks down before seeing that Marty still had his leg over hers. "Uh, Marty." He looks at her before looking down. "Oh—uh—sorry." He almost scrambled into a corner of the room. Darleen got up and smoothed down her shirt, along with Marty.

"We gotta go." Marty says. He gets his jean jacket, his orange down vest while Darleen shoved pillows under the covers to make it look like the two were still sleeping. Marty grabbed his walkman and skateboard before being stopped by Darleen, "My skateboard is downstairs dude." Marty thought for a second before opening the window.

"Come on, let's try something." He climbs out of his window with Darleen following closely behind. He placed his skateboard down, it was wide enough to fit two people, so—Marty stood on the skateboard with one foot before keeping it still enough for Darleen to get on in front of him. Once the two got situated, Marty pushed hard enough to get the board going, having the two be on their way to the mall.
