I trembled to my feet and tried to run away. I was about to let off a scream before a hand wrapped itself in front of my mouth so it muffled the sound. The other hand grabbed my waist and chucked me in the room.

Mrs Barnstable was looking me right in the eye as Tommy kept a firm grip around my mouth. She ripped off two bits of a dress nearby and handed them to Tommy. He wrapped on around my mouth to gag me and the other round my hands so I couldn't escape. Then a smirk began to dance upon her attractive face.

"Well clever little Alice, discovered the killers. Too bad you won't get to tell that nice little Inspector. Before we kill you, I might as well tell you the whole story, it will be fun." She cackled wildly.

I tried to speak, tell her I knew it was her all along and that she is a disgusting, awful person and that she wouldn't away with this, but I could not.

"So, Tommy and I are closer than you might think aren't we darling." She half smiled, half smirked at him.

He nodded his head in agreement, his face still as cold as stone.

"I've never loved John. He's more than twenty years older than me and had grey hair, how could I? I only cared about the money. Being an actress is difficult you know, especially when no one wants to hire you. When John hires me, I can't believe me luck. I smile and flirt with him until he asks me to marry him, which of course I accepted. I careful I planed this since I married him, and today was perfect. No one would suspect my dear Tommy, and I would have an alibi. He slipped it in his morning coffee whilst he was serving it. It was as simple as that."

I wanted to speak again, tell her that it wasn't as simple as that, but i'd given up. I tried to scream but there was no way anyone could hear me.

"Now, you will not live to tell anyone any of this, poor Alice. Kill her Tommy."

I could tell he was shocked for a second as he just stared at me for a second. I gave him a pleading look, but he completely ignored it. Tommy wrapped his hands around my throat as Mrs Barnstable stalked towards me with purpose.

"I want my face, to be the last face you see when you die." She laughed, he face a few inches from mine.

I tried to scream but I couldn't, no air was allowed down my throat. I hoped, hoped that someone would come and save me, but I knew it was too late. My eyes widened in pain and I knew this was it, and it was. And then I was dead, sprawled across the emerald carpet, no way of revealing the truth.
