Aurora Wilson

Audrey has been calling me nonstop. Why? To know why I was absent yesterday. She's nosy. Now that we have the same class, she's sitting beside me. As soon as the teacher left, Audrey wanted to go to the basketball court and I wondered why. I didn't want to go anywhere at all but since she insisted too much, I couldn't deny it.

"Why do you want to go there? There's no scheduled match for today and yet you are insisting that we have to go. You are a little suspicious, Audrey." I said as I walked along with her.

"Nothing suspicious. You'll see once we get there," she said with a smile.

As we reached the court, she asked me to get inside while she stood outside, fueling my suspicions.

"Okay now you go inside and you'll know why I brought you here. Don't get mad at me, okay?" She said with a nervous laugh making me glare at her.

"If it's anything bad, you are dead and that's a promise," I said, looking deep into her eyes and making her gulp.

Though I was not sure what it would be, I was kinda intrigued by what this was all about. I went inside and a tall man stood with his back facing me. Oh no, it's him.

Jacob turned around with the biggest grin on his face. I suppressed my urge to roll my eyes at him.

"Hi, Aurora. How have you been?" He asked, jogging up to me.

"What's this about, Jacob?" I questioned.

"Well, I just wanted to apologise for what happened that day in the lift." He said.

"Apologise? Why?"

"It was my fault, Aurora. You know Zayn and I have a bad history and I don't know what happened when you were inside the lift with him but you were surely mad when you came out of the lift, so I feel responsible for what happened and I know how much of a bad person he can be and that's why it's all my faul-" I cut him off as I said, "Shh, calm down. It's okay."

"You should know how much of a worst human that Zayn Evans is. He is the type of person our parents tell us to stay away from and he hates me just as much as I hate him."

If he was waiting for me to ask why Zayn hated him, that wouldn't happen. I have no interest in whatsoever that's happening between these two. That's absolutely not my business and I don't want to hear any of their bad blood.

"I said that's okay Jacob. Don't worry about it."

"Won't you ask me why? Or what happened between us?"

"No. I will not."

"Alright. Are you mad at me?"

"No, but I will be if you keep pestering me like this."

"I'm happy you are not mad at me. Come, let's go to the cafeteria. I'll get you a coffee to make up," he beamed.

"No, thanks, it's fine."

"Why do you keep acting like we ain't friends? Just come on."

Because we are not, I thought. He kept insisting and looking at his excitement, I didn't want to spoil it for him so I agreed. It was just a coffee, it should be fine, I should be fine.

It was not like I don't like friends. It's just that it's been only a week since I met these people and I don't want to let my guard down. Why? Because people hurt? Whenever they get a chance they hurt us and we don't know, we might have people who we have no idea about plotting something awful against us. We don't know and we shouldn't be too naive because the world isn't built for naive people, and being naive doesn't let us survive, it makes us stamped on.
