quiescence
"Emma and the others are going to have a hard time cracking Y/N."
Norman diverted his gaze to the pack of children chasing the said girl as she runs down to field of flowers alongside Emma hurtling towards the poor girl desperately dashing towards the house.
"You know Emma. She gets her hands on everything but trust me, that is not an easy thing to catch." muttered Ray as he dug his nose back to the burgundy books he's got in his hands.
Norman had found himself chortling at the former's remark and had his wide eyes set on Ray. He leans onto the tree shading them from the hot summer sun of June. In return, Ray's brows clashed together in a puzzled way.
"That's pretty odd coming from you. You've been getting a lot of 'big sister interactions' lately."
"Says the one having an hour long conversation about stars with 'big sis' over there."
Ray scoffed at the statement earning Norman another chuckle from himself. Underneath the pages, Ray's eyes had found itself moving away from the several paragraphs displayed right in front of him as it landed on the tackled girl with children swarming around her. His eyes rolled.
The prickling grass had not only added to the discomfort Y/N's taking as the blazing hot sun shone over her almost blinding her eyes at the sudden exposure. Right beside her sat Emma on her knees with her hands clasped and right behind her the children did the same. Y/N squinted her eyes, as she let out a low groan as the volume of their chatters started to get higher than the peak of Emma's cowlick.
"Please, Y/N! We only get to play like . . . twice a week!"
"Momma always gives you a lot of chores! Just this once, please!"
"I haven't even started doing them-"
"We haven't played a game of tag with you since last week!"
"But isn't that good since I always get caught first-"
"We'll tell Momma to let you off today!"
"Yeah! So we can play together!"
"But didn't I tell you guys I'm assigned in washing dishes today? There are tons of plates waiting for me."
"We can help you!"
"Yeah! We can even play with bubbles inside!"
"Uh . . . that's not quite a good idea. Mom will get mad if you wreck the kitchen."
"I know! You can beg to Mama! She'll definitely let you go if it comes from you!"
Babbles of agreement started to fill the air as it suffocates Y/N from their enclosure around the girl as well as Emma pulling her in a bone-crushing hug with numerous words of 'please' leaving from her lips. Y/N heaved a sigh as she pried herself away as the others started to join in the unintentional group hug Emma started. Standing up, she dusted off her white top from the dirt that constantly clung while running from Thoma and Lannion and by the way, they started the whole thing.
