Vegas- Winter 2020
"Vivaaa Las Vegassss" Crystal merrily hummed to herself as her sticker-covered suitcase rolled behind her. Her flight from Missouri was delayed and the trip was long, but she finally made it over to The Flamingo Hotel. She practically sprinted across the lobby as she spotted her season 12 sisters in the distance. They had all gathered around a set of couches, bringing back memories of their times filming Untucked. It had been awhile since all of the girls had been together, so this reunion was met with the excitement that only RuPaul's Best Friend Race could elicit
The girls' expressions lit up as they saw their favorite familiar face, followed by the click-clack of multiple necklaces so characteristic of Crystal. Although she wasn't in drag, she of course wanted to look her finest for her arrival to Vegas.
"Your wife is here," Nicky teased as she nudged Gigi's shoulder.
Gigi smiled and giggled back. This was her natural response any time someone mentioned her and Crystal in the same sentence. Her heart fluttered as Crystal joined the group.
"Don't worry, we saved a seat...for you!" Jackie jokingly shared as she got up to hug Crystal. The cast always sensed something going on between Crystal and Gigi from the very beginning, and they loved to play into it. They immediately made room for Crystal on the couch, of course next to Gigi.
"Crystal Elizabeth Methyd," greeted Gigi in her serious yet comedic tone as she and Crystal made eye contact.
"GEEEEEG!" Crystal's excitement was palpable as she practically threw herself onto Gigi for a hug. This over-the-top reaction came as no surprise to the rest of the girls. Crystal and Gigi were well aware of the other girl's jokes about "Crygi," so the two kept things light and goofy around others. What nobody else could see, however, was how both Crystal and Gigi's hearts raced as soon as they connected. An innocent reunion hug, yes, but still enough to bring back some unsettled emotions from a few months back.
