I wanna feel how I felt when season 3 came out 🤧😔
Danny's POV
Not much had happened in the time they'd been there. Will had been trying to count the days but there was no way to tell. It was dark all the time and impossible to tell when it was night or day. The monsters usually came out more during a certain time so they established that as nighttime and the other time was day. Will estimated they'd been there for about a week— maybe a little less. He trusted it.
He sort of trusted anything Will said though.
Time seemed to pass slower there. Though, of course, he didn't know what was happening back home.
He wished he could say he missed it, but in both places there were monsters. The ones at home hurt him more mentally than physically. He found it easier to fend off real monsters than to fend off monsters like Troy and his friends.
Troy knew what hurt him. The monsters here would never call him a 'queer' or a 'fairy' or that other word he hated much much more. He was faster than them too.
Troy was athletic and could chase him down. He couldn't smell blood, but he liked it when Danny bled.
Maybe he didn't like being there, but he liked that Will held his hand when they would run away.
He liked that even though Danny was a little bit bigger, Will took charge and protected him, knowing his friend was scared.
And maybe he didn't mind wearing Will's jacket...
Charlie's POV
I'm fucking screwed, he thought.
No way was he going to get around this one.
Jonathan couldn't keep his fat mouth shut and it would cost him everything.
He'd gone five years without Steve knowing. He was twelve when he first had to hide it. He'd crept around with his longing glances, sniffing borrowed clothes, accidental brushing of hands.
And how much he really enjoyed what had happened the other night.
Steve didn't seem so focused on what Jonathan had said luckily. Nancy, however...
Charlie sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, deciding to stop at the gas station. He bought a Pepsi and a bag of pretzels and sat down on the curb.
He hardly noticed the familiar car pulling into the lot.
Steve Harrington got out of the car, went into the store, and came out minutes later with an ice-cold coke. Charlie assumed he wouldn't be drinking it.
"Where's Tommy and Carol?" He asked once Steve sat down. "Dunno. They ran once the cops came."
He seemed to be sitting awfully close. Charlie's heart thumped loudly in his chest and his palms began to sweat.
"Listen, about what Byers said back there-"
Steve chuckled, "No need to explain. I've said worse while drunk and you were completely shitfaced."
Steve punched his arm. "I know you're not like that."
Charlie winced.
"Would it be so bad if I was?"
Steve frowned and furrowed his eyebrows. "I mean... no," he paused and then asked, "... are you?"
Charlie felt his mind unraveling. A part of him yelled to himself. What about the plan? The plan to never speak of this to anyone until his deathbed. To marry someone he didn't love to hide that part of himself. The shameful part of himself.
