After the gas went off Robyn was completely numb and lay still on top of Polly in a bundled heap. Marcus and Freddy emerged from around the corner with Ava close on tight on their heels. Somehow they had done it. Ben had gone in to distract his old colleagues while the rest of them snuck around with little to no plan of action. It hadn't mattered once they allowed adrenaline to kick in. Ava had called for back-up in the car ride here so they were just on a rescue mission before the cops would come to shut down the operation.
Once they set off the trigger for the gas bomb, the sound of sirens was heard within a close proximity. They released some of their prior anxiety that was matched with their courage to even dare to go forth with their plan. Ava had run past the men eagerly shaking Robyn's body panicking for her life. Freddy had to pry her body away as the commotion continued. The police had arrived to take over the mission, leaving the three to take care of Robyn. A mere hour later Robyn was in the hospital, slowly recovering and coming back. Unfortunately not the same could be said with the others. Ava, Freddy and Marcus were okay, but he wasn't.
Natural instincts to run towards the problem was his weakness. He only hoped that it hadn't been Kate screaming, but with such an ear-piercing scream, he couldn't imagine it to be anyone else. Niall ran into the club with his weapon held steadily in front of him. He flashed his badge to the bouncer as he ran inside. The lights had been shut off and the whole street was pitch black. He desperately looked around, searching fro any clues whatsoever. Sliding himself through the heap of muffled bodies, it was a surprise he managed to find a way out. Muffled voices were prominent sounds. He overheard panicked conversations and pure fear as he slipped through.
The lighting began to flicker and he became more desperate to catch any signs of real struggle or any signs of Kate. It was too hard to distinguish anyone in particular in the sea of people. He tried to move his vision constantly to try and see everything.
"Nial-" The voice was hushed off, but he just managed to catch a small glimpse of a struggling Kate. One men held his hand over her mouth while the there was pulling along her body. Niall didn't hesitate before rushing off to her aid. No back-up and no clue, just pure adrenaline carried his feet, one after the other. He whisked away the sheet that she disappeared behind and stuck his gun up for defence.
"Kate?" He yelled hoping that she'd scream or do something to get his attention. The room was pitch black much like the rest of the club, but there was a peak of blue. Light from the outside had been peaking out through the slither of door left open. With all of his strength, he pulled open the door and watched as Kate was hauled off. It was a small back alley, but it had quite some length considering it started from the very back of the club. He was quick to pick up pace as Kate struggled in their grip, fighting and fidgeting as best as she could. He took an open shot hitting one of them in the leg. The other saw the challenge and heaved Kate over his shoulder and turning around to aim his own weapon. He took a few aimless shots, but Niall had to be careful of shooting Kate. The man couldn't carry Kate anymore and dropped her to save himself. She fell onto all fours and attempted to catch her breath. She waved Niall to continue his pursuit as she allowed herself to lie on the cold pavement. He got close to the man and threw his fist at him. Niall got a few shots before the man finally retaliated and defended himself. There was still no sign of Thomas until now. "Thomas!" Niall yelled.
A black van pulled up at the entrance to the alley way. Niall managed to get the man in a lock and sent many curse words out before he was ruthlessly shot in the leg. He collapsed to the floor and barely managed to maintain his grip around the man's neck. Kate screamed with terror visible over her features. She fumbled with her phone desperately trying to contact anyone, but couldn't bring herself to stop shaking. Thomas was thrashing around in the car causing quite the havoc. Niall's shooter had exited the car to finish the fist fight, but Niall picked up his good leg and swung it straight for his privates.
Kate was quick to jump to her feet at the arrival of the police. She couldn't comprehend anything of what had just happened, but she was completely overjoyed to see the police and swung her legs around one of them, clinging on to his body. "Thank-you," she whispered in his ear. He cupped his arms around her while others attended to the criminal as well as Niall's broken body.
He was rushed to the emergency room with the utmost haste. Sam had driven down there and met Marcus there. They both waited for Niall to be checked out of surgery. When they had approached a nurse all she could conjure up was "he lost a lot of blood" and whether it was too keep their hopes down or to be brutally honest was something that only time would tell.
