First Griffindor Malfoy(1st Year)

Apologies and friendships

Saturday found Draco, thinking in his bed.He had managed to pass the whole week without mingling with anyone.He had been mean to Weasley and Potter but that was about it.
Draco felt lonely.He had always feet lonely bit he had thought that once he came to Hogwarts that would change.He actually found himself envying the friendship of Potter and Weasley.
That was exactly what he was thinking about.Maybe he could apologize.Well Potter was a halfblood but well...he had blood all over his body and Weasley was not as filthy as his father had told him.He was not filthy at all.That was when Draco decided that he was going to apologize to Potter and Weasley.
Draco went to the common room and found the duo playing exploding snap.He went over to them.
'Potter, Wesley can I borrow u both for a moment please?' he managed to ask politely.
Both glared at him.Nevertheless he continued.
'I am here to apologize for my actions.Potter I apologize for being rude to you for both reason when all you tried to do was become my friend.Wrasley I apologize for calling you names.I am truly sorry for all I have done.'Draco recited this as if he had read it off a book.
Both the boys looked at him in shock.Dtaco wasn't blaming them.He was shocked by his own actions.
'Sure you don't have a fever Malfoy?' Weasley asked.
'I can be nice Weasley' Draco replied.
Potter stuck out his hand.
'Apology accepted Malfoy.It is Harry from now not Potter'
Draco was shocked ,but shook pot-Harry's hand.
Weasley looked reluctant but 'I forgive you Malfoy but if you do any think I won't hesitate to hex you.Call me Ron by the way.'
Draco was shocked.He wasnt sure if Weasley could really hex him.He quickly composed himself.
'Well then,Call me Draco you two.'
Now it was Harry's and Ron's turn to be shocked....again.
'Friends Mal-DRaco?'Harry asked.
'Friends Harry'
Well that definitely did not go as planned but Draco wasn't complaining at all.At least now he had real friends whom he could have a proper conversation with words and not just grunts.Draco was pleased.
The boys continued to play exploding snap.After a while Harry and Ron went to sleep and Draco started reading a book.
The door to the common room opened and in came Hermione Granger.She went to an armchair and started reading.Draco felt a strong urge to apologise to her as well and that he did.
'Hey,Granger'
Hermione looked at him but said nothing.
Draco sat down,took a deep breath and said.
"Granger...I am sorry for what I said then.I did not mean it.It was the way I was brought up.I really am sorry.I was brought up to hate everyone who was not a pure blood.I know this is no excuse but I hope you accept this."
Hermione looked at him and said.'Do you reallyean this...all that you said?' Dtaco nodded.
'Well I guess it is OK....I forgive u Draco! 'Draco looked at her.
Those time he asked he'Can we be friends ....Hermione?'
'Sure' she replied.
'Goodnight Draco'
'Goodnight Hermione'
They both retreated to their dorms.
Draco felt oddly happy.He had never apologised to anyone before.He had earned himself 3 friends!He felt amazing.For the first time since his 1st birthday he fell asleep happily!
