Isabel

"Guess, what!" Zoe screamed through the phone.

"You're dating, Marco!"

"Yes! Wait, how'd you know?"

"I'm at Ryan's. He came in all extra happy and you called all extra happy. It isn't hard to put one and two together." I stated

"Two and two together, Hun. The saying is put two and two together." She corrected.

"Yeah, but that makes absolutely no sense."

Just then Ryan return's from the kitchen with a bowl of popcorn in hand.

"Who's that?" He questioned.

"Zoe." I simply answered.

"What?" Zoe asked.

"No, I was just telling Ryan that it's you on the phone."

"Can't stand h-" Zoe started, but was immediately cut off when Ryan grabbed the phone and hung it up.

"Hey! That was rude..."

"I don't care." He shrugged. "You came here to spend time with me... Your boyfriend. You can talk to the lesbian lover another time."

"She's not a lesbian." I defended with a smile, "In fact she's dating Marco."

"Like the Marco who lives here?"

"One and the same."

"A lesbian dating a queer, how nice." he rolled his eyes.

"Hey, stop being an asshole." I chided.

He rolled his eyes again, "I'm an asshole?"

"Yes!"

"You're best friend hates me for no reason!"

"Trust me, if Zoe hates you, she has a reason. I just chose to ignore it."

"Because you love me?" He questions.

"Sure." I say. I don't know what it is that stops me from saying the words to him.

It's always sure or yeah, or me too. I can never actually get the words I love you to come out when he ask.

"What did she want anyway?"

"She was just telling me about her and Marco."

"Doesn't she have other people she can tell that stuff to?"

"Yeah, her cousin Laura, but the girls a little coo coo."

"Laura..."

"Yeah, she goes to our school. She's kind of like obsessed with our relationship. Always calling us the power couple. It's weird."

"Sounds weird. Stay away from her..." He demanded.

"I try, but it's kind of hard since my best friend is her cousin." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Find a new best friend." He mumbles.

"Not gonna happen." I said, standing up from the couch and grabbing my book bag from the chair I'd set it on.

"Why are you leaving?" Ryan

"Cause your being an ass." I answer, raising my middle finger into the air and walking away.

___

"Auntie Belle!" My niece yells running towards me.

"Claire Bear!" I return, swooping her up into my arms and placing chaste kisses on her cheeks.

"Guess what!"

"What?!" I question way to enthusiastically.

"I did arts in crafts in class today, with a boy!"

"What? Does my little bear have a boyfriend?"

She nodded with a shy smile. I gave a light laugh and set her back on her feet. She pulled me toward the kitchen told me all about her 'boyfriend'.

"Claire, it''s time to eat honey." My sister, Elise, stated once we came into view. "Hey Belle. How was school?"

"It was good, I guess."

"You just get back from Ryan's?" She continued her questions.

"Yeah. How was work?"

"...It was interesting... To say the least."

"Don't let them work you to hard."

She gave a soft laugh, "Promise I won't."

---

"Lunch sucks." Zoe frowned scooping up the browner than normal re-fried beans.

"Yeah well, it's school lunch."

Just as I said the words the familiar In-N-Out to go box is dropped right in front of us. Two double doubles and a bunch of fries courtesy of the two people now sitting down next to us.

"You're welcome." Marco says smiling. He kisses Zoe's cheek before sitting down next to her.

"It's official," Zoe starts, "I have the best boyfriend ever."

We all give a laugh

"I don't know... Ryan-" I start, but immediately get caught off.

"Has never bought you and I lunch... The stupid little butt muncher." Zoe scoffs.

"Hey, I don't let him talk bad about you, I won't let you talk bad about him..."

"Out of respect for you and our friendship, I won't, but you know how i feel about him..."

"Yes, Zo, I am completely aware of how you feel about him..." She let's it be known every time she gets the chance

Like I told Ryan, if Zoe hates someone she definatley has a reason. She's been saying she hates Ryan since we started dating. Maybe its about time for me to get my head out of the clouds and see what everyone else is talking about.

What am I saying?

Ryan's the perfect angel when ever I'm around. There's no way in hell I'm going to catch him doing something wrong.

Maybe i should just let it be. I've been with Ryan for so long, that it's what I know. Ryan is my comfort zone. I like my coomfort zone...

~~~
So this is chapter nine. I think I'm gonna wrap this up quicker than I expected too. I just don't  have any real inspiration for it anymore. There are a few more things i want to do with it (get into all the juicy  details, ya know) But i just feel like I'm dragging it on, and i don't like that.
I want to be proud of the work I'm putting out but that's really hard to do when even I think it's poorly written and sucks butt...
xoxo,
