The school came into view, a big sign reading, “Caving High School” as he approached the entrance to the building he got off his skateboard and quickly walked in to avoid having to make conversation. He made it to his locker without bumping into anyone and he breathed a sigh of relief. ‘First hard part down now for the other two’ he mentally rolled his eyes and opened his locker. He grabbed out the necessary books and put his skateboard inside the locker and closed its door. He looked down at his schedule to check what classes he had this year. He made his way to his first class which was english. He made his way to a seat near the window in the class. He noticed that a girl was sitting in the middle row on the opposite side of class. ‘I don’t think I’ve seen her around before. She’s probably new to here.’ he thought to himself but soon lost interest and looked out the window. The class soon filled up and the teacher, Mr. Kent,  came into the class. “Good morning, students! Welcome to the first day of your junior year! Today we have a new student. Aspen Black will you please stand up and tell the class about yourself.” The girl from before stood up, “ Hello I’m Aspen Black, I just came here from Utah due to my Dad’s work.” She quickly set back down. She was about 5’4, long blue hair, blue eyes, and skinny. She was wearing a long sleeve blue shirt and some regular blue jeans. She apparently had already made a friend, Mattie Braum. She was the type of girl who was friends with everyone and in just about every clique you could imagine. The teacher was calling roll and made it to his name. “ Samson Grey?” Samson said here loud enough for the teacher to hear him and went back to looking outside. Mr. Kent soon finished calling roll and started his lesson on the Salem Witch Trials. Samson made sure to pay attention and write notes down every now and again. Half of the day had already passed and now it was lunch. This is where the real struggle was: he usually tried to sit at an empty table in the back. Today it seemed like there was no empty table to sit at so he went and sat outside to eat lunch. Nobody was out there except for a few of the goth kids. He ate his lunch in peace listening to the birds chirp at each other. He looked back into the blaring cafeteria looking at all of his peers either laughing, in a deep conversation, or making fun of each other. He thought back to middle school when he used to sit at lunch with friends when the cafeteria actually had a purpose to him. All his friends outgrew him or just said that they couldn’t stand to be around someone with so many problems. He scoffed at the thought and gently shook his head. Soon the lunch bell had rang and it was time for physical education, which he hated this class the most. He always managed to get away with sleeping in the boys locker room or skipping the class as a whole. Seeing as he didn’t get much sleep last night he decided to sneak his way into the locker room and laid down on one of the benches trying to make himself as comfortable as he could and slowly he drifted off to sleep.
