There's been a constant back and forth between you and Mark. Pushing and pulling each other until you find yourselves in a never-ending cycle of dangerous looks, lingering touches and teasing.

None of you crosses the lines that bridge the gap between being more than just friends with... slight benefits to something even more. Cuddling and dirty words that could barely be taken as a simple joke - these endless days ended with nights you both spent separate and alone - finding relief with a hand or a toy, filled with sinful thoughts of the other.

On one particular cold night, you find yourself in need of something sweet, feeling wide awake and irritatingly restless. Unable to fall asleep you made up your mind to head for the kitchen, careful not to wake up Jaehyun sleeping soundly beside you.

Your best friend had stirred a little as you removed his arm from around your torso, a small sigh coming from him as he turns over to his side.

Earlier that day, you had been invited over to the boys' dorm to watch a scary movie to celebrate the nearing of Halloween.

You remember snuggling up to Jaehyun since it was the only free space on the couch when you had arrived - the burn of Mark's stare from across the room had warmed you up plenty that you had to kick the blanket off despite Jaehyun's protests.

It ended late into the evening and your best friend offered his bed for you to sleep in for the night, you accepted, dreading the thought of travelling home at night - especially after watching that scary movie.

Now it was the dead of night and the hoodie you had stolen from his room before you left keeps you nice and snug as you focus on not making a sound.

Your bare feet slide across the floorboards as you shuffle to the cupboards in search of the hot chocolate packets. The first then the second, with no luck you keep checking for the familiar colour of the packaging, wondering where in the hell Haechan had stored them.

"Ugh, hello?" You muttered to yourself, taking a painfully long time to make sure you don't accidentally slam the cupboards close.

"Hello." Your body flinches in fright at the sudden reply you weren't expecting. Whipping your head to look behind you, you hear Jaehyun's good-natured chuckle before you see him and you sigh in relief.

"Ah, sorry Y/N." You mouth 'sorry' mockingly back at him and he only laughs again. He was still wearing his sweatpants and another hoodie of his from the bed. He trudges slowly to lean against the kitchen island, crossing his arms.

Turning back to what you were doing, you started going through the drawers instead. You hear your childhood friend yawn before moving to stretch over you and open the cupboard you had searched just before.‌

You shoot him an incredulous look as he pulls away with the box full of hot chocolate sachets you were searching for.

"Is this what you've been looking for?" You snatch it from him with a mumbled 'thank you' quiet from the embarrassment.

"Did I‌ wake you? Oh, and did you want one...?" You ask, filling the kettle enough for one cup when he politely declines. Jaehyun takes a seat on the stools facing you as he lets out another yawn.

"I think the cold woke me after you left."

"Ah, my bad."

Pouring the boiling water into a mug full of hot chocolate powder, you add milk from the fridge and stir. Taking the seat next to him, you both sat in comfortable silence as you take small sips, the wall clock ticking in the adjoining lounge room.

You don't miss the flicker of Jaehyun's eyes lay on you for a moment and you thought he might break the silence but he looks away. "What is it?"‌ You prod, nudging his side with your elbow and he scrunches his face in thought.
