You first noticed him in the mirror. It wasn't the first time you've seen him, no, you were sure he had haunted you at the edges of your dreams. A happy place while you were asleep, offset by a figure that seemed content on watching you from a distance.

That same shadow was now staring, through you and into your soul. You could feel his blue eyes calmly raking down your body which sends an unwarranted shiver down your spine. You swore a faint smirk had tugged at the side of his lips but as you met eyes with the stranger once again he had disappeared in a blink.

The smell of smoke lingers in your room and you move to open a window, wafting the slightly intoxicating smell outside.

It felt strange, not being shaken up. You didn't think you felt afraid either. But you should have, you should have questioned who he was, how he was in his room and now, how he was not. This unexplainable vision.

Yet, you felt normal. Normal in a way like it was natural for him to be here, lingering somewhere you can't quite reach in the darkness until he wants you to. It felt normal. It felt right.

It felt like he had been around for a long time.

His presence became known to you again once during an early afternoon.

Travelling between classes was an outright pain, trying to hurry from one side of the campus to the other within five minutes. Dodging people and taking the shortcuts you knew, you quickly grew tired of the routine but you suck it up, thinking about all the money you're pouring into this.

You take a straight cut through the building then a left into a small pathway, then right to enter through a backdoor. But there's another pathway that veers right again towards a cleaning closet, a little out of the way of prying eyes.

A playful yelp came from the pathway and your head snaps that way in curiosity. You barely catch the retreating figures of your friend's boyfriend with another girl through the door - into that tight space.

How fucking dare he.

You flinch at the breath tickling the back of your ear and you spin quickly, almost bumping into an innocent passerby. Quickly apologising and stepping to the side you hear a snicker from beside you and your breath hitches at the sight of that familiar unnatural blue.

There he is again, with that feeling in your stomach that anchors you to the ground.

The sound of something crashing followed by a muffled giggle draws your attention away from the beautiful stranger. Your eyes laid on the closed-door which currently hid away the cheating scum inside and you didn't think twice before pulling the door open.

"What the hell?!"‌ You catch him with his pants down and her blouse unbuttoned and you practically hiss at him. He scrambles to pull his pants back up in an effort to look presentable whereas she hides her half-naked form behind him with an accusing yell for you to get out.

"Don't tell her, I was going to tell her everything tonight. Please, just don't tell her."

That's when you felt his shadow stir from behind you, his lips back whispering at your left ear with words coated sickly sweet. The shadows grow darker the closer he came to you and it feels tempting, tempting enough to collapse into him.

He felt real, the heat of his breath tickling down your neck confirmed he existed. But if the lack of reaction from the two in front of you told you anything it would be that they didn't see him if they weren't outright ignoring him. You chance a glance over your shoulder to lay your eyes upon him.
