You know what's the worst? Routine. It's only the first month of school and I'm already sick of it. There was just one thing different about today and I guess you can consider it exciting, most girls in my school do. Today is the day that that one guy from One Direction starts going to my school. You'd think everybody would have calmed down by now, considering how much "preparation" the faculty has tried to give us. They keep telling us not to treat him any different but we still have to be respectful. Honestly, I really don't understand why any celebrity would like to go back to school just to end up getting surrounded by fake and attention seeking girls. I'm not exactly complaining though. I know who he is and he's quite... Attractive. I do know the band and to my surprise, I really like their music. I also may have a few posters and a couple magazines. It's not like I'm a crazy fan, or complete "directioner". I'm a little scared to like them more than I do right now because some of the girls in my school are psychotic. Anyways, today may turn out to be a little different.
"Nicole! I hope you're up because I have classes and I need to actually leave on time!" That was my brother, Jason. The craziest part is that we live together, just us. I'm not exactly sure how we managed to convince my parents to live on our own. He's 20 so it's legal and now he's my legal guardian which is beyond ridiculous. My brother and I were always pretty close but we go a lot closer as we got older. I'm still pretty young since I just turned 17 but he finally treats me like a teenager that deserves some freedom, unless his big brother mode is on.
Jason decide that he wanted to move out and since he's pretty stable for only being 20, he agreed to letting me live with him. That was the easy part, the most terrifying part was asking our parents. To sum it up, it took a while but we finally ended up convincing them we deserve it. I'm a good student, they've always trusted me, and we would barely be living 10 minutes away from them. The biggest reason I wanted to leave was because I wanted to get away from my little sister. I obviously love her, I have to, but our relationship is definitely not normal. I guess my brother felt bad for having to leave me to put up with her.
"Yeah, I'm almost ready actually so you can be a freak and go to class early." I like to tease him. That's the bet part, I don't have to treat him exactly like a parent. I quickly finished getting ready and checked my makeup for the hundredth time in the mirror.
"Just for that, you're making dinner tonight!" Jason called out from the bottom of the stairs.
"But don't I do that everyday?!" I laughed as I threw my makeup bag in my backpack, zipped it up, and skipped down the stairs.
"True. Ok, are you ready to go? What about breakfast. Oh wait, you don't eat breakfast. How come you don't eat breakfast? It's so good. Don't you love oatmeal?" He likes to talk.
"You are extremely obnoxious. If we don't leave now, I'm going to be late too so can we please go?" I went outside and took one last look at my outfit in the car window's reflection before getting into the car. I was wearing a plain, light blue, long sleeved shirt tucked into light, high waisted, denim shorts with my favorite black and short boots. This was actually a little dressy for me. No, there's no reason... Or person.
"Ok, let's go" Jason said as he started the car and pulled out of the driveway. "I bet you're excited to see that boy band kid. What's his name? Henry?" Oh, he's clueless too.
"It's Harry. Harry Styles from One Direction."
