I traveled thousands of miles and so on
With you twin chums who carried me alone
With you, we jogged, ran and rode...
And even strolled leisurely on the road
We befriended since when I was a young boy
From the day when parents bought a new toy...
With a twin "Wintops", bared under the sun
A twin, who helped my tickled feet to walk, jogged then run
When I grew up, I was introduced to your kin
Headed by Sir Titan, with inverse white and brown skin
Kin who turned to be my long friends...
Through the years, albeit their names has rolled-off from trends
I won't forget all the members of your family
I owe gratitude; you carried me on trivial and murky times...amiably
You cared for my feet, freed from injuries and pricks
So I'll be your friend, even we'll fall into a hundred creeks
I reached anywhere, earned reputations, dreamed to soar
Together, we proved that in camaraderie, there's lore
Thank you, my precious duo for having you...
You deserve a fraction of my life's story, my SLIPPERS...adieu!

PoetryThis is a poem I wrote in 2009 when I was still in Batangas City. In literature, we call this type of poem as an address poem. It talks about a specific object (not human) as the main subject.
