A/N: Hiiii peeps, first happy Sunday and hopefully you guys had some interesting few weeks. My schedule has been weird with work starting up again and restrictions very slowly dying down. How is the situation in you guys' countries. Let me know in the comments below. Also any she-ra fans on here. I finished the series in one day and I am obsessed. Either way enjoy this chapter :D.
"Cannon ball!" Hayley loudly exclaimed before jumping into the warm pool.
Hailey and Lauren shrank back as a splash of the water nearly hit them as they lounged on chairs nearby.
"Hayley!" Camila scolded, standing by the edge of the pool.
The young girl emerged from under the water with a grin on her face. She pushed back the flattened dark hair from her forehead and looked up. She was met by a disapproving look on Camila's face. "What?"
"I told you not to do that near Hailey and Lauren!"
"I didn't even splash them!" She argued back.
"It was close enough. Go to the other side!"
"Okay, geez. Sorry, mom," she sighed, sarcastically, before quickly ducking underwater. She swam to the opposite end of the pool where Sofia and Mendes were putting up the volleyball net.
"Oh, Camz it's okay. She's only having fun," Lauren smiled.
Camila glanced over at her girlfriend with a small scowl. "Still, she should show a little respect."
"Respect comes with maturity and at Hayley's age that is hard to find."
"Really?" Camila question but it came off as a sarcastic statement.
Lauren didn't catch it as so.
"Why, yes. Longitudinal neuroimaging studies demonstrate that the adolescent brain continues to mature well into the 20s..."
Camila saw where this was going and slowly began to approach Lauren. An amused expression was on her face as she watched the raven-haired girl launch into lecture mode.
"The frontal lobes of the brain that control neural circuitry such as planning, working memory, and impulse control, are the last areas of the brain to mature. They may not be fully developed until halfway through..."
Camila placed her hands on either side of the lounge chair and swiftly leaned over Lauren, cutting off the raven-haired girl's words with her lips. When she leaned back slightly, she smirked as Lauren was rendered speechless.
Lauren had literally lost her train of thought. Damn Camila and those intoxicating lips. Camila grinned, liking that she could throw off Lauren's concentration.
The raven-haired girl pouted slightly. "I hate when you do that."
Camila chuckled lightly and kissed Lauren's forehead. "I'm just tryin' to help you relax that brain of yours." The brunette stood up straight and Lauren was again temporarily distracted by Camila's abs which were openly rippling from the two pieces bathing suit she was wearing.
"Yeah, well..." Lauren forced her eyes up to meet Camila's. "I can relax my brain all on my own thank you."
Camila glanced at Hailey with an incredulous expression. Hailey grinned with a shrug of her shoulders. "You heard her Camila."
The brunette turned back to her girlfriend. "Alright, smartypants. Let's see if you can go the rest of the night without rambling off the Webster's dictionary."
"Fine. I can do that."
"We'll see," Camila smiled before turning and doing a perfect dive into the pool.
